Trouble Is Lyrics
My wings don't sail me to the sky
On my own these wings won't fly
Jesus told me so
Still I'm not so sure that I know
Can't find no rest for my soul
Can't find no rest on my own
Jesus told me so
Still I'm not so sure that I know
Man, the trouble is
We don't know who we are instead
I'll keep runnin' the other way
My heart ain't built to stay
My heart ain't built to stay
And the world just ain't that way
My heart ain't built to stay
My heart ain't built to stay
Jesus told me so
On my own these wings won't fly
Jesus told me so
Still I'm not so sure that I know
Can't find no rest on my own
Jesus told me so
Still I'm not so sure that I know
We don't know who we are instead
My heart ain't built to stay
My heart ain't built to stay
And the world just ain't that way
My heart ain't built to stay
Jesus told me so

The bluegrass sound of this song is awesome. But beside that, it sounds like when God breaks you and you feel just helpless and confused on your own when your pride is gone. But we need to realize our position in God- we are His children, called and chosen specifically by Him, to serve and glorify Him. But we can't do it on our own.
'I'll keep running the other way/ My heart ain't built to stay...' We sometimes run from God, but do we know what we are running to? I think that this song is dealing with the issue of rebellion, but also addresses the other problem we have following rebellion - a lose of identity outside of Christ.
Jars definitely know what they're talking about!!!
