From Sinking Lyrics
His time there so long
His fingers trace the endless walls he knew so well
And there the breaths were short and hard and thick with salt
And in this place he always knew he'd wake alone
Hands clutch in panic
In this place he built of sand homes that caved
The walls were weak with salty tears
Through the cracks in these walls he saw the sun
The sun dripped through the cracks and died
Shadows managed to betray
Like liquid was the sadness
Until into the light he stepped
In this truth he knew himself to be
From sinking sands he stepped into lights embrace
His fingers trace the endless walls he knew so well
And there the breaths were short and hard and thick with salt
And in this place he always knew he'd wake alone
In this place he built of sand homes that caved
The walls were weak with salty tears
Through the cracks in these walls he saw the sun
Shadows managed to betray
Until into the light he stepped
From sinking sands he stepped into lights embrace

I really love the wave like crushing melodic flow to this track. Anyone who has a connection with the ocean can agree.
rediculously under rated song. and definatly one of the most beautiful songs i've ever heard, and i'm not a damn bit ashmed to say it brings a tear to my eye when the reverb loaded mid section kicks in..
About the person in the story that the album focuses on is killing himself.
This song kind of co-exists with Backlit from Panopticon. For those of you who don't know what a panopticon is, it's a prison where the inmates are surrounded by mirrors or see through walls. It's so the guards can see everything that the prisoners are doing. Anyways, this song reminds me of a man who dies of suicide. When the song ends of the line "From sinking sands he stepped into lights embrace," it made me think of this man reuniting with something or someone that passed away.
