Sacred Serenity Lyrics
Wherever we go, whatever we do
Your shadow is not far behind our steps
And our breath
Protecting and watching all...
Observing spirits on the wall
What are they telling you?
Following all instincts that are pure
Oblivious to time that may be the cure
Chorus:
Sacred is the gift that they
have without knowing
Serenity is knowing it's safe
from destruction of time
Maybe we could take a step back
And discover what leads us to attack
Time that is short - distance unknown
For them, each day life has just begun
Observing spirits on the wall
What are they telling you?
Following all instincts that are pure
Oblivious to time that may be the cure
[Repeat chorus]
Your shadow is not far behind our steps
And our breath
Protecting and watching all...
Observing spirits on the wall
What are they telling you?
Oblivious to time that may be the cure
Sacred is the gift that they
have without knowing
Serenity is knowing it's safe
from destruction of time
And discover what leads us to attack
Time that is short - distance unknown
For them, each day life has just begun
Observing spirits on the wall
What are they telling you?
Oblivious to time that may be the cure

i believe that this song is about animals and how they do not know their future what lies ahead of them all they know how to do is follow their instincts they can't save themselves if something drastic is happening they will continue to do whatever they always do.
It's not an obvious one this! Hmm, I thought it could be about the army. Coz that line "Observing spirits on the wall, what are they telling you?" Is talking about a war memorial. And like, the army protects and watches all etc. But Predeadman's animal hypothesis fits much better. The "spirits on the wall" now meaning stuffed animal head trophies. What a beautifully evocative phrase it is, whatever it means. He had a way with words alright did our Chuck. I love this song!
I think this song is about the human race, and that we need to take a step back and follow our insticts.
I think this song is about our past, how we are raised and how our culture affects us. These are always "not far behind our steps". "Maybe we could take a step back And discover what leads us to attack" could be about how every "attacker", criminal etc. is a victim of the culture, values, inequality, bad upbringing.
Predeadman is right; from an interview/ Chuck: "This song is about animals. For me especially dogs and cats. They don´t know anything about the end of their lives, they are so free-minded. We may suspect when our life will end but animals don´t. They just live their lives, without questions, without analyzing their lives, they are just happy when they can see us. For me it´s all this very important, that they feel good and are happy.."
Chuck himself said the song is about dogs and cats. https://www.wearethepit.com/2020/03/10-things-you-didnt-know-about-deaths-symbolic/?fbclid=IwAR06-TssP_Q0FdjEIJ8P8HAAWfk-NpP40zZUguVHWSP002bGSw9HyAmJc_Q
