Jumble, Jumble Lyrics
Jumble jumble
All at my house
Come on over
Sleep on the couch
Can't even see ya
Look like a mouse
Crumble crumble
The bag is brown
Rip up the paper
To hear a sound
Pick up the pieces
Up off the ground
Tumble tumble
On to the floor
Roll over
Until your poor
Wave to me
I'm at the door
All at my house
Come on over
Sleep on the couch
Can't even see ya
Look like a mouse
The bag is brown
Rip up the paper
To hear a sound
Pick up the pieces
Up off the ground
On to the floor
Roll over
Until your poor
Wave to me
I'm at the door

quite possibly my favorite white stripes song! i just have to smile every time i hear "cant even see ya, look like a mouse". hah i dont know theyre just so cute or something and i get a picture of the whole thing with jack standing at the door waving.
"No, it's like a..." ? It's "Non, c'est quand même amusant, mais...", isn't it ? At the end, it seems to me that she says "c'est des gens qui *****" (I don't understand the very end), but I'm not sure at all.
this sounds like temptation wen ur drunk...ehh? it just sounds like the people r drunk and rolling...on...the..floor umm?
It's surely just about partying your life away and getting wasted?
There was some banter between Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart when the White Stripes were on the Daily show. Stephen said, "Could you (Jon) ask Jack if the riff on 'Jumble, Jumble' off their 'De Stijl' album was an homage to Iggy Pop 'cause it always sounded like early 'Stooges' to me or maybe 'MC5'?" Can anyone relate to Stephen's comment?
yea, artbeat. not the solo, but res of the guitar sounds alot like them. its simple and distorted.
ok guys, i'm not too sure about the song itself, but i think someone here said it was about virginity which sounds right to me, but ANYWAYS, i think i caught the whole beggining thing with your help. Tanyyep says that she says "c'est de gens qui" but i'm pretty sure she says "C'est deja que t'est..." (or in english, "it's just that you're already..." i dunno about the translation, but whatever) I'm PRETTY sure that's it, but we could call jack and meg and ask if they know. but i doubt two twenty year old musicians from detroit learned any french in school. maybe they did on their off-time? wait,, i forgot, jack doesnt have "Off-Time"
The french woman sounds an awful lot like Édith Piaf to me..
Lovely song.
"Wave to me, I'm at the door." is the coolest and coldest way to tell someone you are leaving. So badass.
Additionally: Crumble crumble The bag is brown Rip up the paper To hear a sound Pick up the pieces Up off the ground
Is definitely about partying. The bag being your life. It is brown, drab. But you can at least get a sound out of it if you rip it up. You can be slightly entertained if you destroy your life partying, but you will surely be picking up the pieces later.
