I think it means going through the phase of life, going wiht the flow(red leaves blow in the wind), then going out on your own(leaving home), and finally dying(red leaves falling) or something like that
I believe this song means that as you are changing to a christian, you are leaving your sins behind and being reborn (preferably being baptized). and you look past and forget the sins as they turn into the past of your current being.
Yes and No. I agree with the whole idea about forgetting your past sins and that stuff, but the song has more a retrospective POV. More like a man looking back on his life and seeing the different stages that he went through, and to where he is now going ie afterlife?

I think that this song is talking about being different than others. The flowers are people that are like looking down upon him. The flowers also represent to me... people considered normal in society. Do I sound to far fetched lol? I do agree with the leaving and not wanting to thing... but to me flowers must represent something.

When I think of Autumn I usually associate it with death. So someone passing, which sounds like the speaker. If you think about it, it makes sense.
