Why doesn't TREOS have more comments? This is an awesome band - I'm in loooove with their music. It's purely awesome. As for the meaning, I'm thinking it's about a breakup and saying that their relationship would never be rekindled or something.

i think the meaning of this song involves a relationship of some kind. It's like the boy is trying to accept that this relationship would never work, but the girl won't accept it. But by not accepting it, the words she says to try and make it work are actually hurting him more and more. and the whole not breathing thing is like him saying goodbye to her because he knows the only way to get away from this is to 'kill' his part of the relationship, which i'm thinking is the reference to suicide.
The song, in my opinion, is about a girl ending a relationship and the guy knowing that it's a mistake but he's telling her that he won't take her back no matter how much she later regrets her decison. Basically, she screwed up and there is nothing that she could do at that point to fix what's been broken.
i took this song wayy too literally, i thought it was about a girl who ruined a relationship with a guy, and he got back at her by committing suicide... kinda morbid...
