So Come On Home Lyrics

Although my lover lives in a place that I can't live, I find I like a life this lonely. It rips and pierces me, I love the rip of nerves, the rip that wakes me. I'm dissatisfied, I love dissatisfied, I love to feel there's always more that I need. London never gives what I want it to give.

So Come On Home

So you talk down to me, the few times you talk to me. I'm not scared of words, but I fear voices. I replace you easily, replace pathetically, I flirt with any flighty thing that falls my way. But how I needed you. When I needed you. Lets not forget we are so strong, so bloody strong.

So Come On Home
But don't forget to leave.

Probably their best song. The synth line in it is really, REALLY good. He's on a different plane than who he's talking about but he likes it anyways. But wants the person to "...Come on Home," regardless

I thought this song was a bit boring when I first heard it but once I'd heard it a few times and thought about it, I loved it. I imagine it to be about having everything you really ever wanted, but it means they've had to give up somebody they love. So right now they love their life and everything about it, except the fact that this one person is missing from it. Maybe they are kind of putting on an act, sleeping around etc but it doesn't really satisfy them becuase this person who they carry a torch for.So desperately wanting to get on with this wonderful life you have without thinking of them. Ok, so I'm talking rubbish but I think the mystery of what it is really about it why I like the song so much! It gives me a lot to think about when I hear it and I can have my own interpretation of it . Does it really matter it's not the same meaning as the group intended when they wrote it?

i think "so i'm dissatisfied, i love dissatisfied, i love to feel there's always more that i need" sums up the song pretty well. i definitely also see how it's a song that is pretty open to various interpretations, but what i get from it is that if everythng is perfect, it gets boring, even in relationships. it might be taking the "my lover lives in a place that i can't live" line too literally to say it's about a long distance relationship, but that does make sense with the rest of the lyrics. it could also be an off again on again relationship. this is lyrically my favorite franz song, if only for the way that the last two lines tie back into the whole dissatisfied part. when he first says it, you might not buy it that he really likes to be dissatisfied in life, but then he tells you to leave and suddenly you take his love of dissatisfaction seriously.

I love how it slows down, and then speeds up, and goes from mellow to really energetic. And the way he drops pitch all the time, then picks it up. The dissonance makes me orgasmic. It's like the guy seemingly prefers to be alone, away from the girl, just so he has some kind of reason to justify being unfaithful, which seems to be somewhat of a theme on this album.

I don't think it's about revenge at all, really. I think the point of the song is, he really cares about the gal, he wants her, but in the end he knows it just isn't possible. He wants her to come back to him and be with him, but he also realizes that it wouldn't work and that, other then being apart, everything is going well and it would be best not to disrupt that, despite strong feelings. Kind of a right person, wrong time thing.

the lyrics seem to be wrong up there. they are actually:

Although my lover lives in a place that I can't live I kinda find I like a life this lonely It rips and pierces me in places I can't see I love the rip of nerves, the rip that wakes me

So I'm dissatisfied, I love dissatisfied I love to feel there's always more that I need

So come on home So come on home So come home...

You're where you want to be, I'm where I want to be Caught up chasing everything I've ever wanted I replace you easily, replace pathetically I flirt with any flighty thing that falls my way

But how I needed you, when I needed you Let's not forget we are so strong, so bloody strong

Come on home So come on home So come home...

Blue light falls upon your perfect skin Falls, and you draw back again Falls, and this is how I fell And I can not forget this And I can not forget this

Come on home So come on home But don't forget to leave

My interpretation of this song is that he has moved away from this girl he loves to "chase everything he's ever wanted" and likes the feeling of being dissatisfied because otherwise the time they spend together when she comes home is not deserved. the last line telling her not to forget to leave is because he enjoys being dissatisfied, and wants to earn her back by missing her. i think he likes to think he can replace her easily, but that the next line after this says "replace pathetically" suggests any replacement he might find is not as good as her, so he continues to ask her to "come on home"

I really agree with what you're saying. Maybe it's because that's what's kind of on my mind right now, but oh well.. I share that interpretation. So yeah... I guess I have nothing more to say.
