Save The Day Lyrics
Ten pounds too much to the naked eye
I don't take the bus because she drives
Watermelon lipstick, and way too much
She got buttermilk smile and a thorny touch
Street smart, like a Courtney Love
Can't get enough Hollywood stories of
Anybody famous that can make her feel
Like they're all kinda friends in a way
No best friend, well one but she's crazy
Grew up to end up a Professor of lazy
The last of six kids that all left town
Seems nobody ever wanted them around
But she's cool like a soda can sittin' on ice
Always orders sushi, only eats the rice
Talks about J Lo like they're best of friends
I think she loves me, but it all depends
Hey baby, I don't wanna be your Superman
I just wanna be your man and I'll be super, baby
You'll be standin' in the sun shine
I'll be standin' right here in the rain
You save me and I will save the day
I got a sweet gig rakin' in the cash with karaoke
I get the crowd goin' when I sing the hokey pokey
I shake it to the
left and then I shake it to the right
What's not to love, man I'm on tonight
I got the LA stylie with the New York trim
Keep my pants so low
It's like I'm goin' for a swim
I got the Coppertone tan, like in Mexico
Well, not now but when I go, yea
I know you don't see me like a movie star
And it can't help much that I don't have no car
But you're my favorite thing, by far
That's gotta count for something
I don't take the bus because she drives
Watermelon lipstick, and way too much
She got buttermilk smile and a thorny touch
Street smart, like a Courtney Love
Can't get enough Hollywood stories of

Ahh, no one has had a real review of this song yet?
This song is about a guy who wants a girl to accept him for who he is, but he wishes that he was something more anyway. The basis of his love is the following line, which cleverly ends this song:
"But you're my favorite thing, by far That's gotta count for something"
The first verse (which, one could argue, is more than one verse) explains how the guy thinks the girl is amazing despite any flaws that he sees:
"Ten pounds too much to the naked eye" "No best friend, well one but she's crazy"
In reality, that ten could be twenty, but this guy doesn't care anyway.
The third verse explains how the guy either sees himself or wishes to be seen: it portrays him as thinking that he can have the girl, but he doubts it inevitably.
To conclude, this song is about unblind love--the guy is clearly not crushing on this girl in any way, as he sees her for what she is and loves every bit of it.
This song means that I love Ethan Michael.
Awww... I love you too Diana Lee!!!
wow....deeeeep
very nice goaliegreenberg i completly agree
this guy is trying to describe everything good about him. And he thinks he's all that.
But to me his life sounds boring: He spends time singing the hokey-pokey wich is stupid.
He doesn't have a car! What is he gonna do? Take that girl in a taxi? (Ha ha)
Made an account to post this...
When you take into account the live performances of the song (which are totally worth the watch btw) it’s clear what the song is about...
The song itself is about that feeling of self-confidence even shy guys have when they are trying to make a girl see the good things about them.
From the lyrics we get that he knows the girl very well (knows a lot of specific things about her) and also that it’s the tought of having her by his side that makes him feel confident.
What I like the most about this song is the way he “brags” about himself without coming off as douchy “i got the copper tone tan like in Mexico... well, not now... but when i go” “i wear my pants so low it’s like i’m going for a swim” “i get the crowd going when i sing the hokey pokey” and so on...
Really cool song about someone self-conscious but confident
