This song is the best "I miss you" song I know. A 'close friend' of mine (read: the guy I am totally in love with) goes to school across the country, and I think in 3 months the play count for this song on my iPod got up to 163.
The best line of this song is definitely "I got everything... With you, everything..." Though I also like "'Cause after every day... The wind blows the night time my way... And I imagine that you are... Above me like a star... And you keep on glowing... And you keep on showing me the way..." Such beautiful lyrics. Whoever said that they don't like the lyrics of this song must not be in the predicament of the voice of the song. It's gorgeous if you can connect.

I disagree, I like the lyrics to the song better than the music put to it--to be precise, I like the overall concept of the song rather than the lyrics. It reminds me of loving someone regardless of anything, and being away from them for any period of time---but the space lacks the ability to split the people apart. The guy also says that "I look around at what I got/ And without you, it ain't a lot/But I got every, with you, everything", showing just how deeply the guy values the girl.
And I empathize, which may add a little to my definition...
Goalie - you took the words right out of my mouth. We must be in a similar situation. I love somone who I am geographically not close to, so this song really hit me. So, apart from the fact that this a guy singing, it totally fits. It's a very sweet song.
Here's what I think of the song, in a regular, musical aspect: Just fine lyrics, nice and good. Melody itself, could use some fixin'... All right, I'll call it.
The way I see it, it's just a guy who's missing his girlfriend, while she's away at... God knows where, but she's coming home to him soon, and he's just expressing his happiness for her homecoming.
I think the song's all around good as long as you realize Train's lyrics are a little more abstract compared to similar artists and bands.

I like the song. It seems like simple lyrics to me. I don't care how you get to me, just get to me is basically what it's saying. You can ride and airplane, a camel, hell you can ride a butterfly, he just wants you there. I like that.

I love this song. It may be very simple, both lyrics and rhythm wise, but something about just feels great.
