It's another emotionally tear jerking song by Beth Gibbons. Gosh. This just makes me tear up far too easily.
I think its about us being decieved and the whole world being a show or an act. Quite straight forward but frail and beautiful.
It's just eerie and beautiful. And her voice is amazing, it's not all smooth and pure, it's like she's cracking from her grief.
The best of her solo songs. I don't think Paul Webb even had a credit on this one, so she did it all herself. Simply brilliant.
I wish she'd release another solo album already. I love her w/ Portishead and their first two albums are genius (third wasn't so perfect, imo) but her solo work is pure poetry and emotion.
