He sings "Let's start a/Let's have a" so naturally that you can listen to the song for a couple years and not notice what's being left out. What a perfectly compact, perfectly accurate-feeling statement of anxiety about commitment. This asshole Bill is so good at his job!

While I agree that the omitted lyrics denote some anxiety, I also think that this is a case where he says infinitely more in silence. Also, the use of future tense is brilliant as it adds to the feeling of jumping off into the unknown.
