This song has to be about some dumb bitch cheating on Pete and lieing her teeth out to him...

"With just one single word... NO!" That line right there is the single most emotional line I have ever heard in any song... When he says no, when they play this live and Pete thrusts the mic into your face, and you just fucking SCREAM no at the top of your lungs... Nothing in the world is greater than that feeling, and since I've done that, I get that same feeling back everytime I hear that line and that word...

i love this song.

i think the lyrics are kindof in a sarcastic tone. he's explaining how people who lie ("speak with serpent tongues") will get what they deserve, suffer if you will. ("fall through the ice and drown") not only that, but he's explaining how this particular person doesn't get a second chance or forgiveness. this person keeps lying and it completely changes how he feels about them and who they are as a person ("destroy my opinion of you and your self worth with just one single word..no")
