I heard this song has something to do with the way animals are slaughtered for production.
its to send a message the meat is murder
After describing Remembering Never songs as stories of "love and laceration" to a friend, I was surprised to realise that this was a song more bent on avoiding unneccesary bloodshed.

i'm not against eating meat.. i love eating meat.... but i agree with what RM is saying in this song... how we miss treat animals. but meat is apart of our diet, the human race has been eating meat for thousands of years, we have the brains 2 farm animals..... we r the most developed animal on the earth u don't see other animals farming other animals or growning grops. still this song is gold... love the way they have put it together, the line "We'll leave a path of human flesh as a sign of a better way For a better day" means (well i think) we have 2 sacrifice something of our self/means lots 2 us (eating mean) to improve our way of life (or not to improve)
Magical Trevor, I completely disagree with basically everything you stated in your post. It makes you sound very old-fashioned and uninformed.
Meat does not necessarily have to be part of our diet - that's complete bullshit. The human race ate each other thousands of years ago, do you think it's right that we should do it now, just because we used to? Of course not. And the same should be for animals. These days we have plenty of healthy and appealing alternatives to meat. I think it's really fucked up in this day and age how the majority of people have no empathy for other living creatures.
But anyway, this is an amazing song from an amazing band.
