this song is about a guy who senses his girl isn;'t being faithful. She wants her space and has been lying. he thinks she wants to leave him

lol...don't really get this line but it's my favorite. It's like he feels he can control her by holding on to her hand and then admits that he wants to grab her neck to keep her from seeing other guys...or maybe he feels like wringing her neck for the truth...
I think when he says

It seems like he wants to be equal with this girl but feels he needs to repremand her and be a babysitter for her since he can't trust her to be faithful on her own.
