I think it has a similar meaning to Imperium. You have the power to change your own life and you can make a choice to be happy. You can be yourself and ignore the people who tell you what to do or bring you down.
Similar to the first song on this album, "Imperium," this one is about resilience, perseverance, and the determination to overcome obstacles in pursuit of one's dreams. It calls us to face the truth, let go of our grudges and negativity, and embrace our inner strength to shine brighter in life. You need to break the cycle of past errors and relinquish past grievances to grow and achieve reconciliation. The name "Vim" refers to energy, or enthusiasm, which fits the track's message of being determined to persevere and grow past the weakness to gain strength.
This is definatly one of machine heads best songs. Its perfect apart from the double bass pedals are out of time in the drum intro.
I think that is how the pedals are meant to sound, They sound ok to me and I'm a drummer. Thats not to say you are wrong though. However, the meaning of song..I'm not sure but agression is certainly part of it.
Yeah this song is badass shit. The solo is one of the best on the album, in my humble opinion.
Agree with @Metalhead88 in that this song speaks to me on the level of choosing your own path in life, being yourself and making your own choices (which of course mean you must be responsible for mistakes too).
Not one of my favoured tracks on Through the Ashes of the Empire album, but nonetheless a solid track and has a very positive and thought out meaning.
The definition of vim is energetic and lively, which seems to further suggest that it is indeed about living your life along your own path. Not following others.
