Road Outside Columbus Lyrics
there's a road outside columbus, ohio
feels like i drove along for years
this midwest way of ease, it surrounds us
i can't deny the rhythm here
and as i pull away from riverside beside me
that high street never looked so good
i miss my lady even though she often writes me
she tells me tales of my neighborhood
surprise, surprise
i've traveled here
four hundred miles from where i'm known
my friends are here
a couple years i've spent
i found i have a second home
as i'm blazing down upon my trail to education
there's no bliss in ignorance for me
i stop and stare
a breath of air might slow me down some
but that's just fine with me
surprise, surprise
i traveled here
four hundred miles from where i'm known
my friends are here
a couple years i've spent
i found i have a second home
i never traveled far
two hundred miles to go
that boulevard
will take me home
surprise, surprise
i traveled here
four hundred miles from where i'm known
my friends are here
a couple years i've spent
i found i have a second home
surprise, surprise
i traveled here
four hundred miles from where i'm known
my friends are here
a couple years i've spent
i found i have a second home
surprise, surprise
i traveled here
four hundred miles from where i'm known
my friends are here
a couple years i've spent
i found i have a second home
oh oh oh...
hey, hey, hey, hey...

Wow - I'm suprised that no one has comented on this song yet. It's my favorite OAR song, the lyrics are great.
O-H..........I-O
OH YEAH! columbus, ohio baby....i love this song so much though....besides the fact that it's about where i live....
I LOVE this song, it is one of my favorite o.a.r. song! Yeah fellow Buckeyes!!
this is so cool, because honestly when you first come to columbus, it kinda sucks. the people here are really different and you just feel like you hafta get out all the time. then one day you look back and you know columbus is always going to be a home
to me, this song is about going away to college and making friends along the way..
this midwest way of ease, it surrounds us i can't deny the rhythm here
My favorite lyric from this song. If you are from the Midwest you know exactly what it's all about. Definitely one of my top O.A.R. songs.
An interesting contrast to I Feel Home.
I guess chill to this while you're at school, then chill to I Feel Home when you're back?
the guys from OAR are from gaithersburg MD. thats about 400 miles from c-bus. that's the "400 miles from home part" i'm from central PA and went to school in PA. at first i hated the mid-west, too flat and boring, but "my friends are here" and "i've found i have a second home" so thats why this is one of my favorite songs
this is far and away my favorite O.A.R. song. I dare say that the lyrics are unmatched, even by 'I feel home'(which is fantastic)
