Desire Lyrics
Two hearts fading, like a flower
And All this waiting for the power
For some answer to this fire
Sinking slowly, waters higher
Umm desire, desire
With no secrets, no obsession
This time I am speeding with no direction
Without a reason, what is this fire?
Burning slowly, my one and only
Umm desire, desire, desire, desire
You know me, you know my way
Just cant show me, but God Im praying
That you find me, and that you see me,
And that you run and never tire
Umm desire, desire, desire, desire
The lyrics are amazing, but without the harmonica the passion of the song would not be delivered the same. I go back and forth about this meaning; right now I think it's about two people fading away from each other, even though there is still a strong love, but there is nothing that is going to keep their fading love going. It's just a matter of one of the two to say "it's over", then finding strength in one's self after it is over.
This song feels so pure. No meed to elaborate on the meaning, the lyrics are self-explanatory.
blown away
This is a beautiful song...It reminds me of someone. :)
The harmonica really brings out the passion in this song, jumping out from behind Ryan's softened voice. A fantastic song about waiting and burning, the music captures the feeling quite accurately.
this song is so incredible, always makes me cry, aboslutely fabulous
and after hearing it on TWW I am utterly in love with the song(certain shippers know what I'm talking about)
beautiful
i could listen to this song forever. it's just... wow.
i was 1 year ago today lying on my bed listening to this song crying wondering if i would ever be with the girl i loved well i got the girl then i lost the girl and my new son back to crying alone again - desire.
From Ryan in 2002, "I don't know why I wanted to do that song. Another totally unrequited romance, I guess. I really wanted someone's company and attention. In true singer-songwriter bullshit fashion, I recored the song and she flipped her wig. It's from the '48 Hours' session, which was really inspired by going to see Alanis Morissette play. She was amazing and it just made me feel I had to go back to the studio and try harder."
