See The Sun Lyrics

I'm comin' 'round to open the blinds
You can't hide here any longer
My God you need to rinse those puffy eyes
You can't last here any longer

And yes they'll ask you where you've been
And you'll have to tell them again and again

And you probably don't want to hear tomorrow's another day
Well I promise you you'll see the sun again
And you're asking me why pain's the only way to happiness
And I promise you you'll see the sun again

Come on take my hand
We're going for a walk, I know you can
You can wear anything as long as it's not black
Please don't mourn forever
She's not coming back

And yes they'll ask you where you've been
And you'll have to tell them again and again

And you probably don't want to hear tomorrow's another day
Well I promise you you'll see the sun again
And you're asking me why pain's the only way to happiness
And I promise you you'll see the sun again
And I promise you you'll see the sun again

Do you remember telling me you found the sweetest thing of all
You said one day this was worth dying for
So be thankful you knew her at all
But it's no more

And you probably don't want to hear tomorrow's another day
Well I promise you you'll see the sun again
And you're asking me why pain's the only way to happiness
And I promise you you'll see the sun again
And I promise you you'll see the sun again
And I promise you you'll see the sun again
And I promise you you'll see the sun again
I promise you you'll see the sun again

See the sun again
See the sun again
See the sun again
See the sun again

See the sun again
See the sun again
See the sun again
See the sun again

it's about a women who's best friend is a guy who is desperate for love. no one died in the song- it's about dido's best guy friend going through a tough breakup. He's distraught and doesn't know who else to turn to but his best friend. dido explains to him that despite the hard time he's going through, things will get better and he will move on.

I agree, that it is about dido's best male friend, and his girlfriend left him, although he loves her so much.. but I don't think, that dido is the one, who broke his heart.. just a friend.

I wonder if she's the reason his heart is breaking? Is this her breakup speach for him?!?!

I don't think this is a break up speech...

His wife or girlfriend died, and she is trying to console him and trying to convince him that life will go on and things will get better. He should remember her, but not continuously mourn her forever.

I've always thought of this as a song about her best guy friend in the aftermath of a tough break-up as well. Literally, I suppose you could read it as being about death, but the song is just a platitude if that's the case. You recover from a bad breakup in time. You never really recover from losing a loved one.

I think this song is about the death of a loved one. Not necessarily a guy's girlfriend, just anyone, there's no signs in the song it's about a relationship, it just sounds as though it's the death of a woman. It could be someone's mother, sister, friend, pet!!!

The lyrics to this song helped one of my friends through a very traumatic death in her family.

im pretty sure this is about the death of someone's wife, because i'd assume this is what the lyrics are saying here: "You said one day this was worth dying for So be thankful you knew her at all "

i think the words are beutiful and so true, i love this part because it happens so often: "And yes they'll ask you where you've been And you'll have to tell them again and again "

it encourages hope and gives faith to anyone that is going through a dark time... im a big fan!

death can be figurative. Lamenting about an ended relationship. The big difference comes in the 3rd verse to me. She says "but IT'S no more" not "but SHE'S no more" which means the relationship's ended in either way, not specifically that she's dead or anything.

Small but possibly very importent correcection to the lyrics: "You said one day this was worth dying for" should be "You said one day of this was worth dying for".

Such a lovely song. Better things are to come.
