Other Way Around Lyrics
Maybe what you've seen isn't part of me at all
It must belong to someone but not to me
Maybe I was too quick - too quick to turn my head
But I had to go - just to get around
Other way around
The world it wants you weak
Another way around
I was so young - I didn't know what it meant
to be hurt and then to hurt
I was so young - but it's so hard to stay still
I was so young - and it's getting harder still
just to get around - the other way around
Maybe tomorrow - hope won't come stillborn today
And maybe tomorrow - sound won't fill in for words to say
And we'll get around
we'll get around
the other way around
It must belong to someone but not to me
Maybe I was too quick - too quick to turn my head
But I had to go - just to get around
Other way around
The world it wants you weak
Another way around
I was so young - I didn't know what it meant
to be hurt and then to hurt
I was so young - but it's so hard to stay still
I was so young - and it's getting harder still
just to get around - the other way around
Maybe tomorrow - hope won't come stillborn today
And maybe tomorrow - sound won't fill in for words to say
And we'll get around
we'll get around
the other way around

I think this song is about denying a part of yourself and giving up youth and innocence to become an adult in the world. (What you've seen isn't part of me at all). He was too quick to turn his head meaning he wanted to grow up fast and be an adult, but he didn't know what it meant, this particular lyric is a painful reflection and longing of childhood innocence. "I had to go just to get around, other way around": in order to function in the world ad an adult, he turns part of himself the other way around, essentially betraying morals of his true character or innocence or whatever just to get around.
this a great sng, they shouldve used dual vocals more often.
