Battlescars Lyrics
With the jobs I’ve taken
The bones that I’ve broken
Seems nothings the way that it used to be
Now it’s over, I guess that I’m older
The proof is on paper in front of me
Write it down, sound it out (oh, oh, oh, ohhhh)
Make it loud, and this time make it count
I’m sorry, for everything
I did to you, I didn’t mean it
Late for my own funeral
As usual
Putting it down on paper
So I don’t forget it all later
If I could, if I tried anyway
Said that I learned my lesson
But I make the same mistakes again
Think about this every day
As I watch the towns fade through side view mirrors
With the jobs I’ve taken
The bones that I’ve broken
Seems nothings the way that it used to be
But now it’s over, I guess that I’m older
The proof is on paper in front of me
Write it down, sound it out
Oh, oh, oh, ohhhh
Make it loud, and make it count
Think about this every day
We all get old and fade away
But through it all I won’t forget
YOUUUUUU
I’m sorry, for everything
I did to you, I didn’t mean it
Late for my own funeral
As usual
[2x]
(You can give, you can take
But you’ll never forget)
Moving on now to new situations
Not able to turn to what felt so right (im sorry)
Familiar faces, familiar places
I can’t look on in after one more night (im sorry)
Write it down, sound it out (oh, oh, oh, ohhhh)
Make it count and this time make me proud
The bones that I’ve broken
Seems nothings the way that it used to be
Now it’s over, I guess that I’m older
The proof is on paper in front of me

Ummm, not really sure what this sound is about but I love iT!
I kinda feel like he f*cked up in his previous relationship and there is nothing he can do to make it up... so hes asking her to make a list and just show up at his funeral cause he cant face her or whatever =p
Just so everyone knows...it's not "wait for my own funeral" it's "late for my own funeral." I'm still thinking about the meaning.
i believe its about growing up and the struggles of moving onto something that feels new and not being able to turn back to those who used to be able to
but anyways i've seen Punchline twice now...and i must say they are one of THE sickest bands ever
wow people do know how to mess up lyrics haha, nah I've prolly done it b4 too but he's right it's not "wait for my own funeral, and you show up" not even close "late for my own funeral, as usual"... but newayz, the song is jus amazing "late for my own funeral" is jus a sweet cliche, meaning he's screwing everything up newayz yea Punchline rocks PEACE!
Punchline is so fun to go see...I can't believe Paul left...I still haven't gotten over it. They're all so nice and funny, they need to come back to PA soon.
i love this song it reminds me of a relationship that i messed up awhile back. Its a Great Song.Hell Yeah Punchline is a kickass band to see live they are great hey i even got this CD Signed and my ticket too the concert too by them. hehehe suckers. JK!!
