Death In Fire Lyrics
The wait is soon at end
Always charge never bend
Morning is here, make your stand
Live for honor, glory, death in fire!
Total war is here
Face it without fear
Age of sword, age of spear
Fight for honor, glory, death in fire!
See the fire rise
Flames are raging high
Soon all will burn and die
Burn for honor, glory, death in fire!
Storm of lethal flames
Only death remains
Ragnar?k is closing in
Die for honor, glory, death in fire!
Forces of chaos is on the move
Everyone, choose your side
And know the end is coming soon
The day for all to die
The day is here when Bifrost breaks
Nor sun or moon will rise
When the dead rise from their graves
and Surtur spreads his fire
All you know will wither away
And sink into the sea
A new world will be born one day
Where everyone is free
[Lead Sæderberg]
Total war is here, face it without fear
Age of sword, age of spear
Fight for honor, glory, death in fire!
Storm of lethal flames
Only death remains - Ragnar?k is our fate
Die for honor, die for glory
Die, death in fire!
Always charge never bend
Morning is here, make your stand
Live for honor, glory, death in fire!
Face it without fear
Age of sword, age of spear
Fight for honor, glory, death in fire!
Flames are raging high
Soon all will burn and die
Burn for honor, glory, death in fire!
Only death remains
Ragnar?k is closing in
Die for honor, glory, death in fire!
Everyone, choose your side
And know the end is coming soon
The day for all to die
Nor sun or moon will rise
When the dead rise from their graves
and Surtur spreads his fire
And sink into the sea
A new world will be born one day
Where everyone is free
Age of sword, age of spear
Fight for honor, glory, death in fire!
Only death remains - Ragnar?k is our fate
Die for honor, die for glory
Die, death in fire!

To anyone with a little knwoledge of Norse mytholgy its evident, that this song is not only about some war, but about the final conflict between the Gods and the Giants led by the Fire Giant Surtur ("..and Surtur spreads his fire"), which will result in the end of the world, known as Ragnarök ("Ragnarök is closing in"). All the warriors who fell in battles will ride side by side with Odin to fight the last war against the Giants. The Fire Giants and the monstrous Fenriswolf will bring destruction to the whole world, setting everything on fire ("Death in Fire"). The Midgardsnake stirs up the ocean, flooding all the lands ("...And sink into the sea")
The Giants will try to invade Walhal the home of the Gods but fail to cross the bridge Bifröst which collapses as they try to pass it ("The day is here when Bifrost breaks").
In the end, many of the gods and all human beings (except two) will be dead, but this also marks the beginning of a new and better world ("A new world will be born one day Where everyone is free")
Btw: One of the most kick-ass Death Metal Songs of all time and my favorite Amon Amarth song
The first song i heard my them. Awesome song. Self explanatory - just like most of their songs its about war (old time)
This song is almost a sequel to my favourite Amon Amarth song, "The Dragon's Flight Across The Waves", which told of the preparation for an epic Viking battle. Here we see the actual undertaking of a violent war on enemy territory. Simple and straightforward lyrical imagery, but the riff is powerful as hell and keeps the song rolling along. The drums are pulled off particularly well here, at the beginning of the song it's almost like a war-drum beating along to the carnage. Excellent stuff.
thats so funny that you say that 6th Sadistic Sniper, those are my favorite songs by them as well and whenever i listen to them..i listen to them right after one another cause i feel like they are meant to be played that way.
ive also been told that like 4 albums or so if you read the lyrics from song 1 of album #1 we'll say all the way to the last song of album #4, that it tells a story
would be cool
Woah, that's awesome! I never knew that...
Just a slight correction to Behemoth; Ragnarok is the final battle itself, rather than the end result of it, but otherwise nicely put.
I was pretty clueless about this song when I first heard it. I got the war part but as a whole I wasn't sure what it meant. Awesome song by the way, gives me a rush every time I hear it.
wow octobersnackbar, pasting this directly from what you said about "amon amarth" the song?? its you who needs to get a life man. i mean cmon what have "metalheads" (i hate that word) ever done to you??? yes this song isnt just about any old battle. its an amazing description of Ragnarok which is kinda the norse equivalent of the apocalypse
Octobersnackbar is trolling you, it's lol.
hi everyone,I believe that this song is abt hope, glory and facing reality with it's devilish and demonic sides, live, fight, die for honor, nowadays honor is trampled,so here's a call for changing the situation, live, fight, die for glory, the notion of glory emplies that there's no giving-up till the last breathe. So the band is known for it's glorous, legendary and epic lyrics, and while listening u get the feeling that u wanna fight ur enemies, and look for a change .
