California Lyrics
Woo hoo, I need your huggin
Come here my east coast darlin
Leave Boston, Mass on the next flight
You’ll love the beautiful West Side
The beach and gorgeous sunrise
Surf’s up, the waves are rising high
I’m all alone, I need you here in Santa Monica
California, California, California, California...
Woo hoo, from here to Bel-Air
The blue bus will take us everywhere
Everyone’s happy everywhere til now
From Vita to El Cerrito
Seven years up and down the west coast
Surf’s up, the waves are rising high
I’m all alone, I need I need you here in Santa Monica
I’m alone, why don’t don’t you come to Santa Monica
California, California, California, California...
California (repeated)
Come here my east coast darlin
Leave Boston, Mass on the next flight
You’ll love the beautiful West Side
The beach and gorgeous sunrise
Surf’s up, the waves are rising high
California, California, California, California...
The blue bus will take us everywhere
Everyone’s happy everywhere til now
From Vita to El Cerrito
Seven years up and down the west coast
Surf’s up, the waves are rising high
I’m alone, why don’t don’t you come to Santa Monica
California, California, California, California...

Hello Hello
Add your song meanings, interpretations, facts, memories & more to the community.
my favorite Rentals song, pretty self explanitory
This was actually originally a Weezer demo.
Also of note, Matt Sharp eventually re-wrote the lyrics of the song and added synthesizers for The Rentals 1997 album, Seven More Minutes. Instead of "California", the track was changed to "Barcelona". Look it up on here for more lyric info.
Personally, this version kicks much more ass than the "Barcelona" version.
ehm.... no. the original version "California" is actually the first ever Rentals song, never performed by Weezer. Barcelona is indeed a rework, not as good as the original.
