Indestructible Lyrics

And I know I'm indestructible
Yeah, I know I'm indestructible
Tonight

Break down
Come and tell me it's not true
It's a shake down
Come on and tell me who are you
It's so fake now
Everything I see right through
I'm ashamed now
To say I ever knew you

See the great Athenians
Man, they're not even from Athens
And the kid from Ave. "A"
He's not even from Manhattan
And nothing's what it seems
I'll just stand here laughing
I'm gonna keep on going now
I can't be distracted

And I know I'm indestructible
Yeah, I know I'm indestructible
Tonight

Play back
Rock and roll come and save me
It's a safe bet
You will never ever betray me
And I'll give back
Everything that you gave me
And I know that
No one can ever ever contain me

And I won't get bogged down like some American consumers, nah
I'm dancing now to a whole different drummer
And I'll keep listening to the great Joe Strummer
Cuz through music he can live forever

This song is talking about how after Brody left Tim, playing music with Rancid saved his life. I think any music fan can relate to this... who doesn't turn to their favorite music when they're depressed? It's also another Rancid song to reference the Clash, which is cool. I also like the fact that if you know your Rancid history you know this would make it the second time that Rancid has saved Tim's life. I'd say he owes them...

hey i got a differerent idea on this song... im takin it that this was written after joe strummers death... im a way i reckon that tims saying that he knows that through his music he will be remembered and respected after his death, therefore the industructible, he has noticed that this may happen because it happened to joe strummer... he is still alive in his music and in his fans.... the last 2 lines he says "And I'll keep listening to the great Joe Strummer Cuz through music he can live forever" i dunno if this is the main theme in the song but i picked up on this.

this is an amazing song about how the human spirit is indestructable and music is our savior. after operation ivy, tim was really messed up and startin rancid with Freeman pretty much saved him. rancid and other bands kinda saved me. I have the line "through music we can live forever" tattooed on me because punk rock helped me live!!!!!!!!!!!

is "the kid from Ave. A" actually Ezra from Leftover Crack? i know LoC had a falling out with Rancid...and "Ave. A" is a from a line in "Crack City Rockers" by LoC...just a thought

In the cd cover it say that this song is about how the human spirit is "indestructible" and lives on through music. So a person like Joe Strummer's thoughts and opinions live on the lyrics in his songs.

blacklung - i dont know what the kid from avenue a. thing means but its definetly not about LoC because theyr from C-squat witch is right off avenue a.

and as for the rest of the song is about how the music makes us indestructible and people like joe strummer and tim armstrong really will live forever, some of us really do owe our very lives to the music we listen to.

yes this song is about LoC's Stza at the Ave. A part, Stza always talks about bein from new york and squattin at C-Skwat and stuff like that, but tim says hes not even from New York, he might have been from San Fransisco, cuz stza talks about that area in Crack City Rockers. i dont really know though. plus Stza and tim like hate each other

I'm not sure who the verse was refering to but Ezra was born in Canada and ran away to New York. And Sturgeon, I have stayed in C-Squat and I know people that have been living their for decades that baby-sitted Stz there when he was a little kid, so I don't think it refers to him
