Help me, I'm scared please show me how to fight this,
God has a master plan and I guess
I am in His demand
And I'll see you when this is done
And now I have come to realize
That you are the one who's left behind
I'm here hold on
To me I'm right here waiting
And I'll come back soon just like you would
It's useless, my name has made the list
And I wish, I gave you one last kiss
Please stay until I'm gone
I'm here hold on
To me I'm right here waiting
And take my one last breath,
and don't forget
That I will be right here waiting

This is the exact words from the moth of Tom DeLonge when he talks about this song:
"the song is going to be about when you die and you just figured out you died and you're standing there looking at your lady, and she's there. And you're trying to say goodbye but it's too late. And you feel and you know she's right there...but she can't see you, and she doesn't know you're there"

This song is about death. A person is dying, and is facing it. There's some underlying meaning having to do with faith, and acepting God's plan. And its about being with the one you love till your final moments. Beautiful song

I definitely think that this song is about someone who is in love with someone who is dead/dying. "god has a master plan and i guess i am in his demand" (<< because people say that when someone dies, it's because god needs them and has a reason for them to die) "I see, a light it feels good (when you die, you "see the light") And I'll come back soon just like you would (i'll always be with you, or like, i'll come back and stay with you (as a ghost?? too far fetched?)) It's useless, my name has made the list (god's list) And I wish, I gave you one last kiss" (now you're gone and i wish i gave you one more kiss before i couldn't anymore) and there are just a lot of things from both perspectives of the dying person, and there lover that show this is true i love this song and it's so sad <3

Beautiful song. Its about a man who has realized that he's dead and cannot say goodbye to his lady. He can see her but she can't see him. "I wish I gave you one last kiss." On their new album Neighborhoods, there is a song called Ghosts on the Dance Floor. My interpretation of the song is that its the female's perspective of this death.
Since he's dead he shouldn't be haunting her. It's such a good band.

I'm pretty sure this is Tom realizing blink is falling apart. He sees all the signs and is hoping that it isn't going to happen but everyone is at their breaking point. Most people interpret this song as a man dying looking back wishing he could say goodbye to his love. This is partly true, but it's really blink that's dying and Tom is looking back. At about 12 seconds it says "blink, we miss you" if you listen closely, making this theory even more convincing

GO DOWNLOAD THIS SONG, that's all I have to say.

I love this song lots. i first started listening to it a few weeks ago and really didnt start getting the meaning of it til my ex boyfriend committed suicide on May 13, 2004. I miss him so much :( and this song makes me cry evrytime i hear it.

I thought this song was pretty good but not one of the best. I thought it did have good meaning though. but since when have blink been all into god. I liked it but it didnt make much sense.
They also mention god in Anthem part 2. "Everything is falling to pieces, Earth is dying, Help me Jesus!"

Why does the UK get special tracks? they were born in the USA, they started in the USA. What is so great about the UK? And I myself was a little suprised to see God in their lyrics but maybe its something lightly tied in like "oh my god"?

The reason it wasn't on the album: Not 100% on this, but listen carefully to the start. It sounds like I'm Lost Without You (the way it continues on from Here's Your Letter). I think they probably had to choose one of the 2 songs, and decided that Not Now would work better as a bonus track/B-side than ILWY.
Also, if you read the liner notes of some previous albums, they do actually thank God along with their families and friends. Also, some BCR songs talk about God as well.
