Nobody Loved You Lyrics

What's your story baby
No control of what I am saying
Winter leaves still make me believe
No vendettas, just a cherry blossom tree

Never had the chance to take you home
Now there's no reason just another tomorrow
You keep giving me your free air miles
What would I give just for one of your smiles
Just for one of your smiles

Nobody loved you, nobody made you feel so alone
Nobody loved you
Nobody loved you, nobody made you feel so alone
Nobody loved you

Let me turn down all these lights
And sit with me then you can hold me tight
Give me some more of your carrier bags
And let me dream of a new autumn light

Tell me your story baby
What's your poison and what is your honey
You've stopped me hurting but so much disorder
Winter flowers did you ever forgive her
Did you ever forgive her

Nobody loved you, nobody made you feel so alone
Nobody loved you

Cherry blossom tree, but at least you are free
Nobody loved you like me

It's unreal now you're gone
But at least you belong
Nobody loved you

What's the story baby
No control of what I am saying
Winter leaves still make me believe
No vendettas, just a cherry blossom tree
Just a cherry blossom tree

it is indeed about richey. the cherry blossom tree is a reference to the tree that stood outside the house nicky shared with richey when they first started out.

this song makes me cry. its usually the line "it's unreal now you're gone, but at least you belong" that gets me. it's a sad story.

Nicky said that this was the first song he wrote about Richey (more like the eighth by my reckoning). It is incredibly moving- especially the 'at least now you belong' bit. The carrier bag bit refers to when Richey used to bring round big bags of records to Nicky's house when they were teenagers.

I think It's a metaphor for their time in Japan as well as a tree that was growing outside their house. In Japanese culture the cherry blossom represents transience (but at least you are free).

the whole song is about him, its nicky dealing with things.

im not going to go thru and analyse all the lyrics

Well, whether it is about Richey or not, this song simply is awesome! Manics create there this feeling I've never experienced listening to any other song. It's like letting go of someone you're completely devoted to, but "no hard feelings"! You just accept this spiritual, if I may say, experience and are grateful for it...Great!

It's a sweet lyric really, the only thing bothering me is the "Nobody loved you like me" line. Feels so unnecessary in a song where every "Nobody loved you" is screaming "I loved you", I would have liked it more if it was left unsaid... Hovering between the lines

Title relates to richey

it seems like whereas everything must go had definite political and social themes, the lyrics in TIMTTMY definitely have a more personal feel. The subjects are easier for the public to understand and sympathize with.
