Boot Scraper Lyrics
Watch the broken common man
Drown his sorrows at unhappy hour.
Dirty and sweaty
With just enough to get by.
Calluses on his hands calluses on his soul
Hard-boiled son of a bitch
Scraping away on the down hill grind.
It's a means to an end, a mean end for most.
Death and domestication ends in shattered hopes
Can't see the hand at the other end of the leash.
Turn and bite.
Turn and bite the hand that bleeds you dry.
Throw yourself a bone, no one else will.
Compromise leads to self-loathing
Money the excrement of labor.
And you don't get to keep shit
Except politics and power trips
and a bad breath down your neck.
I know
For I have toiled in the halls of the mighty
And not received a teardrop in a bucket.
Motherfuck it.
The world doesn't owe me a thing
But you do (Motherfucker).
So crooked when you die
they're gonna have to screw your ass into the ground.
As life slowly unravels
Rise above, extract your life.
Will you look within
Then turn around and bite?
Day by day the mask suffocates your life
Is this any way to live?
No fucking way.

I love this song. Its about how the regualr people of the world are taken advantage of by those with money and power.
I think Sampo is totally right. these lyrics are pretty easy to interpet. I gotta say one of easiest LOG songs to figure out.
I love this song. I agree with sampo. this is one of lamb of gods best songs.
The world doesn't owe me a thing, but you do Motherfucker. Totally about the common man and his struggles in our society. Callouses at his hands and on his soul . . . the downhill grind. . . a mean end for most. Most people will bust their ass to make a living, if you can call it that, but go unappreciated and receive the lowest amount of respect in our world. People flock to and cherish those with money and power when really it is the people that do the back breaking work that make it all possible.
You've missed a part of the lyrics. It should be:
As life slowly unravels With nothing to show but wasted time and dust A thousand points of lies falling on the deafened funeral eardrums of the blind masses. Rise above, extract your life.
Socold - are those lyrics out of the album booklet thingee? I tried getting them just by listening and I got "As life slowly unravels With nothing to show but wasted time and dust A thousand points of light falling on The death that you know will come to the blind masses Rise above, extract your life." But im not sure if its right...
And yeah i agree with most people here, its about some blue collar labourer busting his ass and getting jack shit out of it.
Reminds me of The Jungle by Upton Sinclair. Its about the workingman's struggles and how when you work for those with so much you still receive so little.
I DO NOT agree with either or yall...take a look at the first line...its aparently about drinking and how he .."drown his sorrorows at unhappy hou..." and also how you should be able to better yourself without having "money and power"....this is just me though.
This song is not about drinking,it is about people who have to work the shit jobs like roofing,construction,bricklayers....on the Killadelphia dvd if you have seen it,Randy and Mark both talk about how they were on construction crews, this song is about the type of life you have when you work one of the more physically demanding jobs, awesome song though one of my favorites from As The Palaces Burn
