Ruin

Ok, this is what I take away from this song. "The knowledge that seeking the favor another means the murder of self" is the opening line...To me this means that people know when they ask others for help it destroys their pride. Then the song goes on to say, "This is the resolution, the end of all progress, the death of evolution, it bleeds all life away" This means that because of this knowledge people resolve to never ask for help, which in turn means they will never progress, evolve, and eventually could kill them. Then the "silence leads us to streams of solace" part I think talks about how if you dont ask for help you will be fine in the short term but then the "brooks that bubble sounds of torture" part talks about how this comfort will soon go away when you find you really did need help. "This is the art of ruin" or this is how people ruin their lives, by not asking for help.

I can't believe this song has not been commented on. I may not have any of lamb of god's cd's yet but I want them because I heard this song. The singer is awesome, especially in this song. I like the part : Fear Pain Hatred Power. The singer kind of stresses the power part and it sounds awesome. Anyways i love this song.

I think it is an attack on the government. He is saying that we are instilled with a sense of fear and reverance, which keeps us silent, but that when we realise, we don't need their favour, the people will rise up.

This song is fucking awesome. I think the singer is fucking awesome. I saw them this year at the clarkston show of ozzfest and they kicked ass. The mosh pits were fucking crazy when they started playing

This song kicks so much damn ass its almost sick. Lamb of God kicks so much ass that it might be illegal in some states. I think the song simply states: don't keep your mith shut or you'll end up fooled and left behind. Basically, pay attention to whats going on around you dammit, don't be a cog in the machine, rage against it.

And also why doesn't anyone appreciate the musicians??? Eveyone always talks about the singer... is it because the singer is "at the front"? Therefore he must be "the best"?..

The whole band rules! I think all of the members kick ass. Especially the drummer. The drums are killer on all the tracks. Rock out!

I kind of doubt this is what the writer intended, but it sounds a lot like a (rather jaded) description of the breaking down and indoctrination of a green recruit during Basic Combat Training.

Looking at it in that context the lyrics are pretty self-explanatory. A Drill Instructor.... "I will show you all that I have mastered: . . ." haha.
