whoever wrote these lyrics messed them up a little and forgot the ending of the song...

To me it's about him breaking up with a girl and finding it really difficult and he realises after that he's made the wrong decision and tries to get her back but she's moved on and is over him.
'I just could not understand that you didn't even care I was gone', to me is about her getting over him.
I thinkm by the end of the song, the tables have turned and shes in control because he really wants her back because without her he is nothing.
