there's a part in me you'll never know
the only thing I'll never show
hopelessly I'll love you endlessly
hopelessly I'll give you everything
but I won't give you up
I won't let you down
and I won't leave you falling
If the moment ever comes
It's plain to see it's trying to speak
cherished dreams forever asleep
hopelessly I'll love you endlessly
hopelessly I'll give you everything
but I won't give you up
I won't let you down
and I won't leave you falling
if the moment ever comes
hopelessly I'll love you endlessly
hopelessly I'll give you everything
but I won't give you up
I won't let you down
and I won't leave you falling
but the moment never come
the only thing I'll never show
hopelessly I'll give you everything
but I won't give you up
I won't let you down
and I won't leave you falling
If the moment ever comes
cherished dreams forever asleep
hopelessly I'll love you endlessly
hopelessly I'll give you everything
but I won't give you up
I won't let you down
and I won't leave you falling
if the moment ever comes
hopelessly I'll give you everything
but I won't give you up
I won't let you down
and I won't leave you falling
but the moment never come

Unfortunately, I can seriously relate to this song , this is my interpretation:
It's about someone who is friends with another person, probably best friends but deep down inside this person loves, cares for and is probably obsessed with their friend although they'd never tell them this (there's a part in me you'll never know/the only thing I'll never show)
And to me, the chorus sounds a bit hopeless, like, the writer can't help being in love, being obsessed with this person and he almost regretfully states that no matter what happens, he will hopelessly be in love with this person even if he doesn't want to be. He says that no matter what, he's gonna love this person without choice, without a hope. Then the next few lines say that he can't give her up and if the moment ever occurs where she loves him back, then he won't leave her falling in love.
My favourite lines are probably "It's plain to see it's trying to speak/cherished dreams forever asleep" He's saying that all his dreams of being together and having the girl fall in love with him, all of his cherised dreams of them will be only that, dreams and nothing more. It's horribly bleak.
And then the ending line "But the moment never comes." is the summary to this sad song. Hes saying that he will always love her and without hope, utterly bleakly he will always wait for the moment for them to fall in love even though, it will never come and he can't do anything about it even if he wants to.
So yeah, it can be about unrequited love or it can be about an obsession but really, the song doesn't focus on WHY this writer is never going to have his moment but explains rather his anguish in the fact that his love for her is unpromising and impossible, but yet he can't do anythign but follow the bleak road he is already on.
Truly a sad song.
WOW. thats some deep shit man. i've never really thought about it like that. thanks FlourescentAdolescent, that gave me a better understanding of what the song's about and i would've never guessed in a million years about this

Oh Matt... if what FlourescentAdolescent wrote is true, then you still have butterflies for someone, other that Kate, in that stomach!

obbsession. He loves her, she doesnt love him back. So he can never tell her. He's promising to always be there for her. sad really.
He loves her secretly, from afar. He's saying to himself all the things he'd love to tell her directly, if only he could get the chance. Ultimately he knows he never will, as the last line spins it into the definite: "...but the moment never comes." He'll always wait for her, even though the waiting is all he'll ever do.
This song is clearly about loving one person very, very much. I don't know, I feel like it is about two friends, where one of them is actually in love with the other, without the other knowing. I don't know why, but thats the what i see in my head when I think of this song. It is quite sad.
this song is obviously about this thing called love.. i like its sadness and passion.. though the lyrics are quite simple
just awesome
This song is one of my favs. ALl the passion is amazing. Just grabs you and pulls you along for the ride. The emotional ride of being in love, not giving a person up.
This song sums up everything it possibly could about the situation I am in now. Its like, I'm here waiting for the moment that he finally tells me how he feels and tells me he wants to be with me (I can tell he does partly).
"Hopelessly" but without real hope, I will love him always.
"but the moment never comes" which is why i know he will never come out and say it because its too late, hes graduating college and im just a lowly freshman.
I agree with josauuce and frazzle... it's unconditional and unrequited love.
Tis about love
And is absolutely wonderful!
Just goes to prove that sometimes simple really is the most effective.
