i cannot believe nobody has written anything here! i love this song! my favorite on the CD...its about a man and i woman..the man loves her so much that he would ''walk on water, run through fire ect... its so beautiful and this is EXACTLY how a man should treat his lady
Actually, I think the clue to the meaning is in the 5th and 6th lines. The song is talking about a man who has nothing left to give but his love, and the song's asking why the woman is demanding him to be the perfect man and sacrifice everything for her when he's standing there broken, doing the best he can.

It's about having too high expectations that many women tend to have about men. Men are far from perfect, but as long as he loves you, and doing his best to make you happy, then that's all that should matter.
