Just Like You Lyrics
I could be mean
I could be angry
You know I could be
Just like you
I could be fake
I could be stupid
You know I could be
Just like you
You thought you were standing beside me
You were only in my way
You're wrong if you think that I'll be
Just like you
You thought you were there to guide me
You were only in my way
You're wrong if you think that I'll be
Just like you
You thought you were there to guide me
You were only in my way
You're wrong if you think that I'll be
Just like you
I could be cold
I could be ruthless
You know I could be
Just like you
I could be weak
I could be senseless
You know I could be
Just like you
You thought you were standing beside me
You were only in my way
You're wrong if you think that I'll be
Just like you
You thought you were there to guide me
You were only in my way
You're wrong if you think that I'll be
Just like you
You thought you were there to guide me
You were only in my way
You're wrong if you think that i'll be
Just like you
On my own
Cause I can't take living with you
I'm alone
So I won't turn out like you want me to
You thought you were standing beside me
You were only in my way
You're wrong if you think that I'll be
Just like you
You thought you were there to guide me
You were only in my way
You're wrong if you think that I'll be
Just like you
You thought you were there to guide me
You were only in my way
You're wrong if you think that I'll be
Just like you
I could be mean
I could be angry
You know I could be
Just Like You
I could be angry
You know I could be
Just like you
I could be stupid
You know I could be
Just like you

You're wrong if you think that I'll be
Just like you

okay..this song is about bad parents! The singer doesn't want to turn out like his parents. I think the parents neglected him and just didn't care about him. The parents thought they were too strict along with neglecting. The kid didn't want to turn out like his parents.
AliceInWonderland, you are the one who is "boo hoo hoo" ing about nothing so shut the fuck up and get a fucking life you ignorant retard.
haha, thats the bottom line of my big comment above XD 3DG rocks!! <3

I took it as a song dedicated to their parents. Very good song, but the video is horrible. It is really funny, but it doesnt seem like it was intended to be. A friend & I were watching it the other day when we both just started busting out laughin, & 3 Days is one of his fav bands. I hope they make a new single/video soon("Wake Up", if i had my choice).
its about parents...look at the chorus...
You thought you were there to guide me You were only in my way You're wrong if you think that I'll be Just like you
our parents think they are our guides in life. but to us they are blocking the paths we want to take. we want to take risks and if we mess up its our fault. when we grow up almost all of us do not want to be like our parents. it says your wrong if you think i'll be just like you. we have the choice to be different. i know that i am who i am and my parents dont really like it but too freaking bad. this song is about parents
This song reflects my attitude of my peers going through middle and high school. All the trash bags who claimed I was a "nerd" or the horrific homophobic term, "faggot". All the lowlifes who claimed I wasn't "cool", when in fact they themselves were the ones oblivious to their own pathetic state. I could be just like them, just as idiotic and unenlightened. They thought they were there to guide me in some sad manner, informing me that "getting some" is all that matters. Truly, I could be just like that. But I'm absolutely not. And never shall be. They were only in my way. I could be as fake, stupid, and ruthless/cold as they are. But I'm not.
I've read most of the comments and many ways people have deciphered this song. People say that that it has something to do with parents. Other's say it's society. Other's say it's with just personal issues, etc.
Taking all this information to mind, you actually are all correct about this. If you think about it, society tends to judge and pressure you for the type of person that you can be. There are people who just aren't very accepting, and they will only accept you if you accept the same trend as them or if you conform with their expectations.
Unfortunately, our parents can also be a problem when it comes to this song. Not every single parent is like this, but most parents tend to choose their children's future and how they should grow up. They may think that what they're doing is only for the best of their kids, but they don't realize that they're actually the problem of the entire situation. And what makes matters worse is that when they do realize what they children really want to be or do with their lives, most of the time...they aren't very accepting about it in any way. They don't support their ideas and ways of living, and they think that those ideas are just life threatening. Sometimes they'll even go as far as to isolate them from all these "threats" such rock, cultural arts, and other things that make people very expressive and think. Like I said, it's not applied to every parent. However, it is unfortunate to say that it does match a few perspectives of people's parents.
And finally, internal issues. It doesn't really hint on it that much, but you can get a slight amount of information about it. The constant pressure that you feel when you want to do something, it stands as a road block in a lot of people's lives. Sometimes pressure and anxiety can motivate people to work hard or to get through tough situations. But for a vast majority, it's what keeps people in darkness and in deep depression. It isolates the person's body, mind, and heart. It's what makes them feel weak inside, and feel worthless. Internal pressure and lack of self-confidence. The feeling of wanting to fit in with society, etc.
That last part might not have been right, but as I said---It's just what I feel is part of the song. I just used the information I was given, and I used my own perspective about this song. I hope you guys liked it.
setting someone straight on their position in your life... getting away from them, because they're turning you into a bad person...
i agree with thewhitepony... this person realizes that the other person wasn't helping them in any way but hurting them and making them something that they don't want to be. so they break away from that person.
fucking brilliant
this is my anthem... I agree with thewhitepony33
