Will I Ever Make It Home Lyrics

Woke up from my sleep to the sound of that voice
From the words that I heard I had no choice
They told me I had to turn around
My assurance slowly faded down
And I wonder

Will I ever make it home
Will i ever leave the ground
Leave this place so far behind

The plans that I had were quickly destroyed
The problem was one I couldn't avoid
They welcomed me to stay overnight
I'm too tired to complain so I just might
And I wonder

Will I ever make it home
To the place I recognise
Far from here and where I've been
And all the things that I've been shown

Will I ever make it home
Can they keep me here for good
Where I hardly know a soul
And my fear keeps going on

Weariness keeps growing inside
My patience is starting to subside
And I hope I'll be there soon
It can't be long or I'll fall through

Woke up from my sleep to the sound of that voice
From the words that I heard I had no choice
They told me I had to turn around
My assurance slowly faded down
And I wonder

Will I ever make it home
Will i ever leave the ground
Leave this place so far behind
'Til there is no turning back

Will I ever make it home
Get to where I want to be
Find the ones who wait for me
To the place where I belong

Will I ever make it home
Will I ever make it home
Will I ever make it home

I has a chance to see Ingram Hill twice over the summer when they opened up for Hanson and they were incredible. I also got the chance to chat with Justin the lead singer after both concerts in milwaukee and chicago and these guys r awesome and very sweet. I hope they have tons of success becuz they definetely have the talent and they also deserve it. ~Jen~

Since the previous comment isn't about the meaning of the song, maybe I'll try to enlighten everyone with what I think this song means.

Basically I feel it's about getting sidetracked in life.

"The plans that I had were quickly destroyed / the problem was one I couldn't avoid / They welcomed me to stay overnight / I'm too tired to complain so I just might."

I feel this is saying that things didn't go the way he wanted and there was nothing he could do about it. He basically got caught up in it because he didn't feel like doing anything about it. The chorus is about how he's wondering if he'll ever get his life back on track and be where he wanted to be.

When I heard this song on the radio, it nearly brought me to tears. I agree to a point with something vague, although I see it in a different sense. This song makes me think of bootcamp...being in the Army taught has taught me so much, but nothing more than basic training. "Will I ever make it home/Can they keep me here for good/where I hardly know a soul/and my fear keeps going on" ...Those words just sum up the whole experience right there for me

it sounds like a song that was written in an airport. dont get me wrong I like it, but the lyrics remind me of being held up at an airport with nowhere to go, and no control. but i do agree with the other meanings that was posted about being sidetracked in life. I i feel for echosss106, army basic would have to suck. the frst part of brainwashing.

Actually, dogARTit, you're right. This song was written by Justin, the lead singer. He explains the meaning of this song in the interview video on their website, www.ingramhillmusic.com. He basically says that he wrote this when he was in Europe, and the trip home ended up taking 3 days because of endless problems at the airport.

I find it amusing that somebody correctly guessed where the song was written.

This is not the band's best work, in my opinion, but it's good nonetheless.

I would have to disagree with SweetSaide. It's an awesome song. I used to listen to it a lot when I was in the process of transfering schools from far away to back home. I became someone who I was completely ashamed of and all that I wanted to do was make it home where I could "find the one's who'll wait for me" and start over in "the place where I belong."
