Run Thru

I can imagine someone running from something or someone, possibly a fear even. The runner gets homesick, painfully so, and wishes and prays he can get home, then something challenges his faith or he is perhaps caught off guard and has to continue running from whatever is chasing him/whatever he left.

often times, i would hope & pray then (that) faith came my way - "that" makes sense to me more than "then".

If we take it as "that faith came my way", it would change the meaning of the song a bit. It would mean he possibly is running from something terrible that possibly shakes someone to their core, and when he thinks that faith (God I'm guessing,) can save him, he is scared again and has to keep running. I could be totally wrong however, that's just how I see it.

I'm beginning to think that, at least to this point, this album tells a story. I may be mistaken but allow me to explain...

1. Mahgeetah - Either has feelings for a girl or feelings for his guitar (oh, musicians...) or both
2. Dancefloors - About the early days of touring
3. Golden - The touring continues and though it's good, absence from his beloved is saddening
4. Master Plan - Relationship tensions grow and he grows more sad
5. One Big Holiday - Remembering the bands start and his reasons for leaving home
6. I Will Sing You Songs - Admitting the relationships going to fail, but holding out hope
7. Easy Morning Rebel - He had faith when they were together, but it's rapidly fading
8. Run Thru - Trying to escape the hoplessness or depression.

Therefore, I think this song is about trying to escape (run thru) feelings or maybe running from his current life back to his home (her).

Cant believe im the first to comment this track. This song is unbelievable live and often reminds me of Pink floyds Run Like Hell

GLORY!!

I interpret this song to indicate that the subject is running from home. As he's left his town the morning bells toll - sounding the alarms - to try and get him back. And often he does find himself looking behind, but that's when his faith in himself kicks in again and decides he still needs to run. Run and leave everything that held him back behind

this is one of my fav songs by MMJ, but it became my a favorite before I learned the true lyrics...the instrumentals are AMAZING (which is why i still love it), but the lyrics ruin its quality in my opinion...
