I see my life
It's an instant
Its temporary for me
I read the lines
I feel you
You are saving
You found me
Screaming
On my knees
And finally seeing
Let's take it to Eleven
Now show me Heaven
You've made this
So very easy
My life's been
Set free
Without you
I'm so broken
I need you
Every moment
I can face the day
I can face the night
With you by my side
I won't fear or fright
Let's take it to Eleven
Now show me Heaven
You've made this
So very easy
My life's been
Set free
Let's take it to Eleven
Now show me Heaven
You've made this
So very easy
My life's been
Set free
Let's take it to Eleven
Now show me Heaven
You've made this
So very easy
My life's been
Set free

I think it's great if the lyrics of a song can be read in multiple ways. For me, as non-Christian, this song is not about God at all, but as several posters before indicated, about the beauty of life itself. I have looked at sunsets myself from my balcony, and know what Ed is singing about. Appreciate the world for what it is, you don't need others to tell you about it, just experience it yourself, it's wonderful!

Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
