yeah, i think its pretty obvious its about Carrie, but I also think the most powerful line of the song is the

"I fucked you over a million times and you died."

Just the way he sings it and the words he uses, yes they may be harsh, but it really shows the regret that he feels about how he treated her. This is one ofthe saddest songs I think he sings. So beautiful how its wrapped up in an up-beat melody. Beautiful.

There's alot of snow falling on the Chelsea Hotel on Love Is Hell...a metaphor for coke, is duh pretty obvious, I know. I LOVE that line, "Taking bullets for a team of bad poets"...gets me everytime.

Mygod, everytime i hear the phrase "I fucked you over a million times", it really gets to me. Sounds to me like he can't believe she's gone. Just the part where he sais "I fucked you over a million times, and you died, you really died". Like one moment they're having sex (being a normal couple with no worries), everything's gonna be okay, and the next, she's dead. And he really didn't expect that to happen, like he always thought she was gonna get well...

I've always had a hard time figuring out whether he's talking about how he treated her ("I f*cked you over") or talking about how many times the two of them were intimate ("...over a million times"). Pretty certain it's the first scenario.
