caterwaul means like a screech or some sort of distorted sound. and i love this song cos it's so full of all those distorted sounds and feelings that you can't say or describe in a situation thats full of bitter but sad hatred, but at the same time its lolling and beautiful and makes you feel all the feelings its about. then at the end it builds up to this eerie anger. i first heard it when i was falling asleep and i had this album on repeat, the end bit woke me up and i really felt genuinely frightened. its an amazing song, there aren't many artists who can write songs with that much emotion and send that many mixed messages to you.
