The Millionaire Waltz Lyrics
Bring out the charge of the love brigade
There is spring in the air once again
Drink to the sound of the song parade
There is music and love everywhere
Give a little love to me (I want it)
Take a little love from me, I want to share it with you
I feel like a millionaire
Once we were mad, we were happy
We spent all our days holding hands together
Do you remember, my love?
How we danced and played
In the rain we laid
Wish that we could stay there, forever and ever
Now I am sad
You are so far away
I sit counting the hours day by day
Come back to me, how I long for your love
Come back to me - be happy like we used to be
Come back, come back to me
Come back, come back to me - aah
Oh, come back to me, oh my love
How I long for your love - won't you come back to me, yeah
My fine friend - take me wiz you unt love me forever
My fine friend - forever - forever
Bring out the charge of the love brigade
There is spring in the air once again
Drink to the sound of the song parade
There is music and love everywhere
Give a little love to me (I want it)
Take a little love from me, I want to share it with you
Come back, come back to me - make me feel
You make me feel like a millionaire
There is spring in the air once again
Drink to the sound of the song parade
There is music and love everywhere
Give a little love to me (I want it)
Take a little love from me, I want to share it with you
I feel like a millionaire
We spent all our days holding hands together
Do you remember, my love?
How we danced and played
In the rain we laid
Wish that we could stay there, forever and ever
You are so far away

Come back to me, how I long for your love
Come back to me - be happy like we used to be
Come back, come back to me
Come back, come back to me - aah
Oh, come back to me, oh my love
How I long for your love - won't you come back to me, yeah

What, no comments. To my mind there are three songs that define why queen were both unique and unsurpassed. Bo Rhap (obviously), The glorious over the top rant that is March Of The Black Queen and The Millionaire Waltz. This is a work of sheer genius. It twists and turns, from ballad to rocker via a waltz that Beethoven would have been proud of, and if that wasn't enough, they throw in a superb Brian May solo too. I sincerely believe that in 200 years time people will be performing and analysing Queens music just as we do the classical performers now. Who cares what it's about, just sit back and enjoy.
It's about the ups and downs of love, as a waltz's beat goes up and down repeatedly. It's catches you offguard then sends you flying - and that's just the waltz! I'm sure we've all been in love at least once before and we can relate to how it feels through this song, lyrically and musically.
The double tracking of the guitar on the solo just makes for fantastic music! That moment is the best for me in this- the thrashing rock section, the guitar solo with the playful melody and the pause with the triangle note as they double track it, absolutely amazing.
Hey Sven, eveybody uses escapism in different ways, music is one of the best and most harmless ways to escape.
Is it just me, or does Freddie inject a little sarcasm into this song and others -- I'm thinking especially "Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy" -- where he's writing lyrics so stereotypically lover-boy-ish that it comes off really tongue-in-cheek?
Hands down my favorite Queen song. "There is spring in the air once again" is perfect: it brings a fresh new season, looking for love, perhaps that lovely girlfriend that you lost. The waltz creates a very happy atmosphere. This is a perfect Queen song--I haven't heard many waltzes with lyrics. Elegant melody, playful lyrics. Love it!!
I think that this one was just for fun :-D
yes, this could have been written for fun. its a great song!
A true romantic just like Rudy Valentino
Once again queen has pulled off a very different song brilliantly! they have the most diversity ever!!! thank- you freddie for once again bringing us something different!
