Kenai Lyrics
Over mountains I feel safe,
sacred were those summers.
And these memories I place in my heart for shelter.
And I modify, just to smell the ocean.
And I underline, visualizing motion.
And I guess I miss my home,
I could not stay.
I'll return, it's alright, I'm okay.
Re-occured daydream, tie up stern first.
And these gifts I've learned, never leave me.
And I redesign, family and growing.
And I realign, forgetting nothing.
Maybe in a few years it'll come back to you,
reflection becoming your virtue.
So sort me out, lay me away.
Over these mountains I feel safe.
And bless the sound, return the day.
Over these mountains I feel safe.
sacred were those summers.
And these memories I place in my heart for shelter.
And I modify, just to smell the ocean.
And I underline, visualizing motion.
I could not stay.
I'll return, it's alright, I'm okay.
And these gifts I've learned, never leave me.
And I redesign, family and growing.
And I realign, forgetting nothing.
reflection becoming your virtue.
Over these mountains I feel safe.
And bless the sound, return the day.
Over these mountains I feel safe.

This song is about how they moved from Alaska to Portland in order to get discovered. Kenai is the name of the town in Alaska where their guitarist grew up.
This song has a special meaning for me as I moved to Alaska when I was young and lived there for eleven years before moving away. After I had moved and heard this song a year or so later, it brought me close to tears because it perfectly reflected my own feelings about the move and how much I miss Alaska, which has grown to be home for me. Even now, a couple years after the move, I still listen to this song and feel homesick. The line "over mountains I feel safe" especially reflects my feelings as after living with mountains looming overhead for so long, now that I live in a place where the land is almost completely flat as far as the eye can see, I feel somewhat like the opposite of claustrophobic.
Im From Anchorage, I love 36 because there from the same place as me, ive been listning to them before anyone even knew who they were, and they have alot of AK pride haha, there like the only band that comes up here to see us. haha i love 36!!
This song is obviously about being homesick. These guys are awsome (I'm not just saying that 'cause we're from the same state). ALASKA RULES!!!!!!!!
Yes Alaska rules, now maybe we can get more than one halfway decent band.
