What I love about this song is how the verses seem so calm, describing the situation in the car, and the building up to the chorus is loud, but the chorus itself is thoughtful and catchy. It's like the verses symoblize the situation in the singer's head, the loud refrain symbolizes the feelings that he doesn't want to let out, but hopes the girl would understand somehow, and the chorus is about how the situation makes him feel, as if he is looking back at this moment in the car from a future time and realizing how being in that situation made him feel so down. This is another great song from their newest album. ^_^

i dont think that its about someone who he really like but doesnt know how to react.. i believe he already is with this girl but they are fighting and there is just no winning her back. he doesnt want this to end but he cant do a thing about it. all it has become is a akward silence. he wants to love her, kiss her, be with her but he doesnt know if she'll let her.. he hates that this may be the end..... at least thats my 2 cents and the way i feel about this girl sleeping right behind me..

by far their best song.. and most emotional for me

I think the first line describes the tingling feeling you get when you're anxious "the drops of rain fall all over"

"this awkward silence makes me crazy" pretty self explanatory

"The glow inside burns light upon her" describing how the feelings you have for someone makes them seem so perfect

"I'll try to kiss you if you let me" again self explanatory

"(this can't be the end)" meaning it's a relationship that has ended

"tidal waves they rip right through me" The thoughts and feelings that seem to tear you apart when a relationship ends

"tears from eyes worn cold and sad" from crying over the breakup

"pick me up now, I need you so bad" wanting the person to come back because you want them back so badly

"down down down down down down down down it gets me so down down down down down down down down" feeling depressed thinking about it

"your vows of silence fall all over" they won't talk to you

"the look in your eyes makes me crazy" wondering what they are thinking

"i feel the darkness break upon her" you can tell they are sad about it too

"i'll take you over if you let me" you'd take them back if they'd give you the chance

"(you did this)" it's your fault the relationship failed

Well that's my opinion tell me what you think everyone

Of course, this song will mean different things to different people based on their own perception and experiences; but to me, this song is about a guy and a girl. It's a giving. They knew eachother for a while before perhaps, but maybe something happened and he ended up hurting her and losing contact for a long time. Then he shows up randomly in her life again, and this song describes the emotions he is feeling in that situation. In detail:

"The drops of rain they fall all over This awkward silence makes me crazy The glow inside burns light upon her I'll try to kiss you if you let me (this can't be the end)"

-I believe this part is explaining the initial first meeting again. Neither of them are sure how to react to eachother at first, because of what happened in the past between them. The awkward silence and nervousness is making him crazy. But then, there is this moment where everything stops, and she looks at him. He notices a new glow about her, even though he can tell she has been sad also. The glow and sadness he sees in her in that moment makes him want to kiss her, but he is not sure if she would let him. (This can't be the end) Is him regretting what happened in the past. He wants to start over. He does not want this to be the end of everything they once had, and everything he knows they could be if she gave him a second chance.

• This part is a more intense feeling. After the initial thoughts and feelings, he starts to be overwhelmed by them. (The tidal waves represent his emotions. The "rip right through me" is saying how he can't stop the feelings. They just well up from the start, and start surging through him uncontrollably.) He notices her eyes, and how they have changed. They are more worn. Weathered. He sees and almost feels her sadness as well. He wants her to pick him up, because he has been through some crazy times, too. He has changed, and become sad also. Once he realizes she has been the same, he knows in an instant that he needs her. And I believe he can clearly feel she needs him, too.

• This part represents the silence again. After noticing the look in her eyes, and how she has changed, it drives him crazy. She seems lost in thought and is experiencing the hurt all over again, hence the sudden darkness. He wants to hold her. He wants to have her. He wants to keep her, and save her. Because he knows that the sudden darkness was caused by him, and he regrets it so badly. And the "down" part ties in here, too. The whole situation is making him down because he knows her pain was his fault. He wants so badly to tell her how much he has changed, too. How much he really wants to be with her, but he can't because he is not sure she would believe him even if he did. (That is why he wants to kiss her. He knows he probably wouldn't be able to talk about it without crying, and just wants to kiss her to show her instead. Hoping his emotions would pass through her like hers were passing through him. He was hoping a kiss would let her know without saying anything, and make everything okay again.)

This song came on once in the car when i was JUST HAPPENEING to give my ex a ride home from class. It was really weird cuz he broke up with me and ive always been bitter about it. Right when he was getting out it was like "YOU DID THIS"...wow i will always remember how good it felt because i was over him and he knew it. i still get chills at that part!!

this is one of my all time favorite songs. to me, it speaks about two people during a turbulent time in their relationship. it could be after a break up, the beginning uncertain stages or even just a rough patch when one doesn't know what the other is thinking of. right now it strikes a chord with me, I made the mistake of falling for someone that doesn't feel the same way, it was doomed from the start and now that it's more or less over, the whole situation just gets me down. I recall all of the high points and all of the lows, and now every time I talk to her I find the conversation is nothing more than awkward moments after having given my heart to her and having it pushed back to me. I want nothing more than for things to take off between us, but I have no way of knowing what it is she really wants, I just know it's not me. i love this song and the accompanying Fallen Interlude. they are the best combination of musical compositions.

I love this song. It's really fun to play on the drums. Great job to them. I think it's about someone causing someone else to be "down".

I love this song...i think it's about this guy that this girl just broke up with and he's really upset about it and he tries to make everything just like it was before but it's no use cuz she's already gone. and he's a little "down".
