Are we all victims of opportunity
Locked outside the door back in '83
I heard the angry voice of the man inside
And saw the look of fear in my mother's eyes
GO GO GO GO
I don't wanna know
I don't wanna know
Mom get in the car and let's drive away
She said I'm sorry Mark but there's nowhere to stay
Gave up all her hope and went back inside
Hid her broken heart and let the engine die
GO GO GO GO
I don't wanna know
I don't wanna know
Why do evil men get away with it
Can't you see that I'm in a world of shit
Turn your back on hope and go back inside
Stop my bleeding heart and let the engine die
I don't wanna know
I don't wanna know
I don't wanna know
I don't wanna know
I don't wanna know
I don't wanna know
I don't wanna know
I don't wanna know
Locked outside the door back in '83
I heard the angry voice of the man inside
And saw the look of fear in my mother's eyes
GO GO GO GO
I don't wanna know
I don't wanna know
She said I'm sorry Mark but there's nowhere to stay
Gave up all her hope and went back inside
Hid her broken heart and let the engine die
I don't wanna know
I don't wanna know
Can't you see that I'm in a world of shit
Turn your back on hope and go back inside
Stop my bleeding heart and let the engine die
I don't wanna know
I don't wanna know
I don't wanna know
I don't wanna know
I don't wanna know
I don't wanna know

I love this song sooooo much, I can relate to it a little (but not as extreme as Mark's experience) It's about how the man his mom is with treats her badly but she has no choice but to stay with him because she doesn't have the oppurtunity to leave and how hopeless mark feels because there's nothing he can do so he just doesn't want to know and the engine dying is his heart braking ... but that's my opinion
This is one of my favorite songs on the new album. There's something about the raw emotion in Marks voice when the music stops and he yells I don't wanna know. It gives me chills everytime I hear it. Whenever I listen to it i have to turn it up all the way and scream along I DON'T WANNA KNOW
mark is a really good singer..but please mark just dont scream leave it up to tom :P
good song, it's a little short
awesome damn song. vonni id like to hear you even try to sing, let a lone scream.
this song is deffaintly one of my favourite by blink ever, its just such an amazing and raw punk rock song. this song i reckon is about domestic violence and i'm interested to know whether mark was effected by it when he was a kid, i think the chorus 'i dont wanna know' is about maybe how he doesnt want this happening to him and his mum anymore or maybe how people dont wanna know about these things and just pretend its not going on.
I love this song. Heck, I even have a friend who loves it so much that swears by it. He doesn't come from a troubled family or anything, but somehow he can sit in his room and turn his stereo up full blast and listen to this song ALL DAY LONG. And I swear, even though I don't do that I can fully understand why he would do that. wiseaimee is right- this is such a raw punk rock song. It blows my ears off. I scream "GO!" along with Tom at the top of my lungs in my car when I'm driving all alone and this is in the CD changer. The bass in this song is really catchy for some reason. And Travis as usual is awesome here. The album definitely wouldn't be the same without it.
haha i agree with vonni kinda, wen i 1st got the album i scaned through all the songs and was very very confused, i had to chek the cd just to make sure that it was blink that i was listenin to...especially when i got to the fallen interlude, i almost cringed, then i heard go and was relieved that there was sum traces of old blink on the cd! but when i heard mark yellin the ' i dont wanna know' i got a little scared but then i learned to appreciate it and eventually appreciate the whole album..it just took a few months...lol also asthenia sounds like the old blink too
This song has alot of sentimental value to me, because I see it as in a domestic violence situation (like wiseaimee said) and thats the type of place I grew up in. His mother's with a bad guy (dad? boyfriend?) and theres alot of hate from him to her, and his mom is scared to death and she wants to leave, but theres nowhere for her to go. So she had to go back and stay there with the guy. Then at the end Mark is questioning why this is allowed to go on, because all it does is f*ck up the lives of innocent kids in the situation(in the song he references to himself as being in a world of shit), but you have to turn your back on it as that kid, because theres nothing you can do. I almost always cry when listening to this song, as pathetic as that may seem..
"Turn your back on hope" Not sure if it's intentional, but that line sums up the new album for me. Hope was their favourite Descendents song (Travis even has it tattooed across his back), and until now, Blink have sounded like the Descendents. They changed all that with the selftitled album.
