Gravity Lyrics
Lost again
Broken and weary
Unable to find my way
Tail in hand
Dizzy and clearly unable to
Just let this go
I am surrendering to the gravity and the unknown
Catch me, heal me, lift me back up to the sun,
I choose to live
I fell again
Like a baby unable to stand on my own
Tail in hand
Dizzy and clearly unable to just let this go
High and surrendering to the gravity and the unknown
Catch me, heal me, lift me back up to the sun,
I choose to live, I choose to live, I choose to live
Catch me, heal me, lift me back up to the sun!
Help me survive the bottom!
Calm these hands before they
Snare another pill and
Drive another nail down another
Needy hole
Please release me
I am surrendering to gravity and the unknown
Catch me
Heal me
Lift me back up to the sun
I choose to live, I choose to live
Broken and weary
Unable to find my way
Tail in hand
Dizzy and clearly unable to
Just let this go
Catch me, heal me, lift me back up to the sun,
I choose to live
Like a baby unable to stand on my own
Tail in hand
Dizzy and clearly unable to just let this go
High and surrendering to the gravity and the unknown
Catch me, heal me, lift me back up to the sun,
I choose to live, I choose to live, I choose to live
Help me survive the bottom!
Snare another pill and
Drive another nail down another
Needy hole
Please release me
Catch me
Heal me
Lift me back up to the sun
I choose to live, I choose to live

I think its about kittens.
I think the song is about a guy making the decision to get sober and the struggles he takes trying to heal the wounds of his addiction. The references to him as a child not able to stand or do much of anything is what people in rehab go through with withdrawls and such. Or this could be the exact opposite, its a man saying he wants to keep going but its too late and he fucked up so now he has to venture into the "unknown". I prefer the first idea, a bit more uplifting.
@Prog_Rocker I completely agree and the not knowing how to walk is much more than just rehab it's the everyday life of not going back to the drug when "life" happens everyday. And I like your twist on it I thought that of maybe it's too late and he's just accepting the gravity of how far he has taken it and that even tho he says I choose to live it is a subtle fade out of maybe that choice is now gone. Even tho I think it's a little far stretched I like the idea of the twist....

this song is about how he is only alive whenever under the influence of his addiction (drugs or not)

i think it's about someone who wants to stop the vice that is ending their life. They have developed a dependence for the drug and just wishes they can calm themself before they drug themselves again.
I am surrendering to the gravity and the unknown Catch me heal me lift me back up to the sun I choose to live, I choose to live
Here, he decided to remain sober and let gravity do what it pleases with him. By quitting he "chooses to live".
Like so many songs on this album, this deals with addiction and recovery. The singer is "high" abnormally (i.e. by use of drugs) and finally decides to give up. They surrender their "high" to gravity (natural forces, the natural state of emotion), which pulls them down (they come down from their high). Now, the singer asks someone to "help me survive the bottom" i.e. get through the most horrible part of withdrawl. He needs them so he won't "snare another pill" i.e. relapse. In the end, he hopes to lifted "back up to the sun", meaning he hopes to feel euphoric again, but not by chemicals, not the abnormal "high".
Pure Beauty...
to me this song is about glory/victory/etc. like with my tail in hand when im dizzy and weary ill still find my way because i CHOOSE to live and i will be lifted unto the sun. i was in a real bad car wreck and almost died and this song pretty much made me not give up tryin.... so it means alot to me...
You fools...this is the best APC songs, makes me cry everytime. This song you can hear his pain...of trying so hard to quit...and he is begging gravity to save him...take him someplace wonderful...because he wants to live...
i have seen a video of this song which is directed by "jake wiltse". is that an official video?
