Full Color Guilt Lyrics

Ideals of beauty set to color in savvy death camp chic
The runways turn to gauntlets of disgrace and sickness
For your spectacle your piece
Freeze - her hollow eyes now give you anything
Dead - she never saw it coming anyway
Acceptance is the starving girl that you created bleeding your disease
For images of tragedy that you take pride in
To make her feel ashamed
Articles will not redeem
The dead now lying at your feet
You know she doesn't matter so don't act so coy
She's starving for you did you even notice what you took

hmm, well this song... i could be wrong but i get the idea that it has something to do with soldiers taking advantage of those in POW or other war related DP camps

i'm pretty sure you just got that from 'death camp' and 'dead now lying at your feet'. Lemme give you my interpretation.

It's about how women have been dehumanized by society (i.e. us men) seeing them only in certain roles, not accepting them for what they are and unapologetically forcing them into roles to fit what we want to see, rather than what they are. All the death imagery could refer to spiritual/emotional death, 'death' of their 'real selves' (destruction of identity), or 'killing' a woman's spirit to turn her into a vapid mannequin, all done by the objectification of society.

I might be wrong about this, but i'm pretty sure that's it.

That was pretty deep what Shadowwiththeeyes said, um... yeah I guess. Isn't it simply about woman models and how they pretty much starve themselves and kill themselves for photographers and such? "Runways turn to gauntlets of disgrace and sickness." "Articles will not redeem..." "She's starving for you" Eh.

I think Shadoruner is as close as you can get.

"Ideals of beauty set to color in savvy death camp chic"

People going skeletal to be the 'image of beauty' to the point they look like they were in a death camp

"The runways turn to gauntlets of disgrace and sickness"

they go too far and people start looking down on them in either disgust or pity

"Acceptance is the starving girl that you created"

society created the image of beauty by accepting it, which in turn caused the problem

"For images of tragedy that you take pride in To make her feel ashamed"

As I'm sure everyone is familiar with, the media loves to have a feeding frenzy on any little thing that happens to those 'in the spotlight'

"Articles will not redeem The dead now lying at your feet"

Articles could be the studies behind the increase in cases of belimics (spelling?)

"You know she doesn't matter so don't act so coy She's starving for you did you even notice what you took "

because of the nature of the industry, people become expendable easily. Not only that, but our acceptance of this 'image of beauty' that was presented to us has taken away so much from people who feel a need to fill it in. People just don't seem to realize what an impact they have.

I think this song is about photojournalism which is often contested ethically; to turn a profit on the disenfranchised, homeless, refugees, etc by trying to use their sorrow for monetary gain.

"did you even realize what you took" is talking about taking someone's pride who has nothing material.
