Girls! Girls! Girls! Lyrics

You been around enough to know
That if I want to leave you better let me go
Because I take full advantage
Of every man I meet
I get away almost every day
With what the girls call
What the girls call
What the girls call
The girls call murder

You been around enough to see
That if you think you're it
You better check with me
Because I take full advantage
Of every man I meet
I get away almost every day
With what the girls call
What the girls call
What the girls call . . . the girls call murder

I always saw it as a femme fatale's confessional song. Not apologetic, just a declaration of her wicked self.

a great feminist song! telling all the men that she's in control, despite what they think.

abusive girlfriend. simple as that.

yes, definitely an emotionally abusive girlfriend. i think it's partially methaphorical, though. mean to fuck with your perceptions of gender. listening to a song about a girl abusing her boyfriend gets you thinking.

I don't think she's necessarily an emotionally abusive g/f. She may merely be a player...someone who doesn't invest herself in any relationship other than sexually. If everyone who has done that is to be considered 'abusive,' than we have a country filled with batterers. (I believe one has to be emotionally invested in order to be an abusive g/f.) In the song she takes advantage of men (perhaps their kindness; trust; money; time; etc), so I suppose it's a type of abuse, but she has not invested much time emotionally.

It's interesting that the title of the song is Girls! Girls! Girls! (not say, Men! Men! Men!) - it's almost as if while she is "taking advantage" of men she's doing it so that other women will notice.
