Pornogratherapy Lyrics
Tonight the cinema's the treatment clinic where the perverts seek the cure. Show me the rape scene one more time for the cause and I promise we'll behave like perfect christians. We'll sing the glory of the gospel for some whiskey and a skin flick. Hallelujah. All rise. Hallow be my name. In this kingdom we came without calling. Hallelujah. The violence and the choir, the virgin and the fire. Up to her neck in tongues. Lovely, so lovely is ludwig van. Electronic sonata pumped through the mud of the night stand. The saints in regalia whistling while they rape. Lid clamps in vitamins. Lift up her skirt and I'll be cured, like a junkie with a methadone addiction thinks he's clean. I'll be cured. Sit down and watch closely. All these whores have conceded the war. She said "you might be sick, but you feel all right to me". That's enough. Turn if off. I promise I'm better. Healed at the horror show.

I am pretty sure that this song is about hypocritical christians. The people that he is talk about tell everyone to resist lust, but in the end they can't even control their own. In the end the "christians" feel bad about what they do, and when they have some sort of punishment, wheter it is God not giving them everything they want, or someone knowing that they gave into lust, they say they don't deserve it.
this song is mostly in reference to the book and movie "clockwork orange" great song and a great book/movie
YEH! i thought it was to do with 'A Clockwork Orange' cause of the Ludwig Van bit. and the Lid clamps bit ace :D
"like a junkie with a methadone addiction thinks hes clean"
everyone has personal struggles or addictions that ail them in life, and sometimes we convince ourselves we've overcome them even though they still remain, although with different appearances
Definately about A Clockwork Orange. "the saints in regalia whistling while they rape" is an obvious reference to the singing in the rain scene. Maybe Keith's views on the subject of what's considered acceptable in society? I find it interesting how he perceives them as saints though..
he's talking about how he is addicted to sex he thinks if he just does it one more time then he'll be fine be able to live without it: "lift up her skirt and ill be cured"
but he finds this sort of thing disgusting, and doesn't want to be a part of it "healed at the horror show" it's the things he hates that make him feel better
by the way when i saw him i mean the perspective that this song is written in, and yeah i think it is a reference to a clockwork orange. he switches persons though from "i" to "him"
There's no doubt in my mind that this song is about A Clockwork Orange.
"Tonight the cinema's the treatment clinic where the perverts seek the cure. Show me the rape scene one more time for the cause and I promise we'll behave like perfect christians."
-To cure the main character Alex in the book, they make him watch all kinds of messed up shit such as women being gang raped and such, while he's on medication. It gets him sick and he begs them to stop. This part basically saying "show me the rape scene again and i'm cured i swear i'm cured."
"Lovely, so lovely is ludwig van. Electronic sonata pumped through the mud of the night stand."
-Alex loved Ludwig Van in this and also they played that music when they show him the videos so he ends up not being able to listen to it without becoming sick near the end of the book.
"Sit down and watch closely. All these whores have conceded the war. She said "you might be sick, but you feel all right to me". That's enough. Turn if off. I promise I'm better. Healed at the horror show."
-He begs them to stop and turn it off. That he's cured. Oh and the word "horrorshow" was used in the book a lot, as it meant a good time. Such as "it was a real horrorshow."
good call, butter. though, the horror show could be reference to that, but also just a reference to the films being a horror show.
or hey, lets go crazy, maybe it meant that the horrorshow that was supposed to cure him contained stuff that he used to think was horrorshow? either way, good call.
we'll sing the glory of the gospel for some whiskey and a skin flick!!
