Modern Nature Lyrics
The moment has come to face the truth
I'm wide awake and so are you
Do you have a clue what this is? (I don't know)
Are you everything that I missed? (I don't hope so)
We'll just have to wait and see (Wait and see)
If things go right we're meant to be
The surface is gone, you scratched it off
We'll make some plans, I let them go
Do you have the slightest idea (No I don't)
Why the world is bright when you're near? (Is that so?)
Stay awhile and wait and see (Wait and see)
If things go right we're meant to be.
Oh, what a world this life would be
Forget all your technicolour dreams
Forget modern nature
This is how it's meant to be
The time is here for being straight
It's not too early and never too late
People say I should watch my pace (What do they know?)
"Think how you spend all your days" (They all say so)
They'll just have to wait and see (Wait and see)
If things go right they'll have to agree
Oh, what a world this life would be
Forget all your technicolour dreams
Forget modern nature
This is how it's meant to be
[Scatting]
Do you have the slightest idea (No I don't)
Why the world is bright when you're near? (Is that so?)
Stay awhile we'll wait and see (Wait and see)
If things go right we're meant to be.

i think everyone is taking this far too seriously. this seems like a cutesy love song. i think what he means by "the time is here for being straight" is referring to being straight with the girl, aka being honest and (maybe) saying those three little words. the entire second part is pretty romantic--"why the world is bright when you're near?"--what does that verse have to do with homosexuality? anyhow the bottomline is that the song isn't about homosexuality but sondre singing a song about whether what he has with this girl is love ("do you have a clue what this is?"), and if he should say so now ("it's not too early and never too late"), or wait ("People say I should watch my pace").
who is the girl singing in this song? it sounds sort of like the girl from frente
the girl's name is lillian samdal
this is one of the catchiest songs i've ever heard. they're using it for AMC commercials now, and the chorus fits perfectly. I love Sondre
only half the lyrics are posted
I think i remeber him saying at a concert that the girl is his girlfriend, and she was at the recording studio when they recorded this and they were screwing around and decided that it worked well. something like that anyway sondre is the fantastic, a personal favorite of mine incidently, how do you say his name? lerch(y) ler (kay) lerch ???
son-druh lair-kay, am i wrong?
in other news, this is one of the best songs i've ever heard.
son-dray lair-kay
saehn-dreh lurk-eh
I always say son-dreh lair-kay Haha. I was checking on his website once in class, and the girl next to me goes, "Whats Sandra Leerchee?"
but now, what does it mean? (now that we've gotten over his name...)
I always got the impression that it was about straight vs. gay relationships. The song blatently says, "the time here is for being straight." Is this what it literally means? Well, it would make sense with the "forget modern nature" (modern nature = gay/lesbian relations).
A lot of Sondre's lyrics are vague: it always seems hard to pull one concrete meaning out of his songs. "If things go right they'll have to agree" Who are they? Agree with what?
