The Horse You Rode In On Lyrics
I think I've read this book before,
hardbound shiny cover, pretty colors.
But an ending that's sure to disappoint.
It's not what you'd expect when you open the box.
And all the things you'd wished you'd find,
fleeting and taunting, colors drab and ordinary
to the brilliant white of not knowing what's inside.
But how can I bear to behold that dream now?
That my eyes have adjusted to the concrete walls of this box that I've opened?
And I know I'm more than just a little fucked up,
but I'm trying to make my way back home.
hardbound shiny cover, pretty colors.

Great song.It makes me dream...
how can i bear to behold that dream, now that my eyes have adjusted?
without a doubt, that is the saddest line of poetry ever written.
I don't know but the title of this song reminds me of the ending of The Catcher In The Rye where Phoebe rides the horse at the carousel. & also the fact thst it's talking about a book & the last 2 lines : "And I know I'm more than just a little fucked up, but I'm trying to make my way back home." It's like Holden is talking. I'm probably wrong but that's what I thought since GAD make a lot of referances to books & I want to hear your ideas. Btw it's my favorite song of GAD....
