Can't (Holloween Valentine)

Not too sure what this song means.I think maybe its just how people arent taken seriously, and their actions can make others think they are crazy.

i love this song. i personally think it's about someone who sort of drifts through life, a wallflower maybe? they have all these complicated thoughts in their heads but when they open their mouths, no one listens, no one tries to listen and that person is left to doubt themselves and their existence.

This song reminds me of someone who's really shy and sad, and they go out and get drunk, and they become someone different, and they appear confident, and happy, but inside their dying. Really sad song. Brillaint though.

For me, Halloween Valentine could refer to a stalker. Then again, just about everything does. But..look at it like this.. Halloween = scary Valentine = love ... scary love? get it? I'm sure that's probably not how its supposed to seem, but thats just how I see it. I think there's some other lines in there that could refer to being stalked and what not, but I'll be quiet now.

This is my favourite song by scarling. Now I do love all of their songs, but I truly find them at their most brilliant when they bring out the distortion and just shoegaze my mind out - like here, Alexander the burn victim, and (Northbound on) Cahuenga.

As interpretations go, I'm probably a bit influenced by my own state of mind at the time I first heard the song. But it feels like loving someone that one simply can't have nor does they understand why, but love is such a powerful and strong emotion that you can't just love someone for nothing. There has got to be a way to make this happen, and how is it possible to feel so much for someone and not have them feel the same way for you. The entire thing makes you feel stupid, people find you crazy, and you find everyone and everything crazy in the end.

I suppose it's not really what the song is about, though.. by far.
