You're the only one
I've ever told
That I will rape this day
Got to walk and talk
A swarm to tell
And I will hate this day
Sporting the name brands
Clothes make the man
And I will rape this day
Kids won't have their break
They didn't cup the cool-aid

I've got a fighting chance
You know you promised me the last dance
I mic her not in time
This fat 24 inch someone
Nothing but moans and blood
From my blood gives my love
You cannot eat just one
Die from annihilation
So soon it cuts off the sheets
Until you stand behind your hammer of hair

I'm gonna rape this day
Rape this day

This is the real mouth
So wait up and fly south
And I will rape this day
I'll blow it all around
I'll eat it until my eyes turn brown

And I will pinch and tear
And pull and catch you right there
I plan on jerking straight
Until I'm pretty bruised and cat scratched
I'll rail, rake on your neck
But who will cry or complain
Compared to the brain
Are you following me?

I'm gonna rape this day

Pretty cryptic song... i'm not sure about the meaning, to me it seems like a "man on the edge" kind of story, you know, everythings is wrong, you feel bad about your life all day... so you're going to "rape" it, you're going to snap and do something very bad.

It's definitely "Pumping kool-aid", cause it's about a heart. It might be worth noting that Rape is based on the Latin to Seize. Carpe Diem - Seize The Day/Rape The Day.

I think Marquez got it right. It's quite negative - digging at how Clothes do make the man, that the world/society is crap and that he needs to tear it down and destroy it.

    I really wish he would.

There's no chance that this album is a prequel to what takes place in self-titled... right?

This song is quite catchy, which is odd considering the brutal lyrics. This was my first exposure to Tomahawk. I was expecting something really heavy, not pop-punk-metal. My preffered type of music is pop punk, so I like this song and will definetley be checking out more music by Tomahawk.

You're the only one I ever told That I will rape this day

Got a barking dog And a smile to tell And I will hate this day

Sporting the name brands Clothes make the man And I will rape this day

    Guess a heart won't break That ain't pumpin' Kool-aid

I got a fighting chance You know you promised me the last dance A micro naught in time This fat 24 is all mine Nothing but moans and blood And so my blood counts my loss You cannot eat just one A diaphragm revelation

Just want to get some disease And get your stampin' heart the hell outta here

I'm gonna rape this day I'm gonna rape this day I'm gonna rape this day Rape this day

This is the real mouth Sew it up and fly south And I will rape this day

I'll blow with you on the ground Or leave it 'til the leaves turn brown

And I will pinch and tear And pull and kick you right there I'll proud and jerk and stretch Into a pretty bruise, a cat scratch Put a rake on your neck But who would cry or complain? Compared to the pain of your sorry white vein...

so i played this album in a dvd player, which apparently ive never done before, because some songs play a lil' differently. in this song, the part where the lyrics start-the guitar part is missing-so you hear silence-then patton, then drums. ...also on mayday

Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
