We Will Become Silhouettes Lyrics

I've got a cupboard with cans of food
Filtered water, and pictures of you
And I'm not coming out until this is all over
And I'm looking through the glass
Where the light bends at the cracks
And I'm screaming at the top of my lungs
Pretending the echoes belong to someone
(Do Do, Do Do, Do Do)
Someone I used to know

And we become
Silhouettes when our bodies finally go

I wanted to walk through the empty streets
And feel something constant under my feet
But all the news reports recommended that I stay indoors
Because the air outside will make
Our cells divide at an alarming rate
Until our shells simply cannot hold
All our insides in
And that's when we'll explode
(And it won't be a pretty sight)

And we'll become silhouettes
When our bodies finally go

(Ba Ba Ba Ba Ba)
And we'll become
(And we'll become)
Silhouettes when our bodies finally go

(Ba Ba Ba Ba)
And we'll become
(And we'll become)
((And we'll become))
Silhouettes when our bodies finally go

(Ba Ba Ba Ba)
And we'll become
(And we'll become)
((And we'll become))
Silhouettes when our bodies finally go

(And we'll become)
((And we'll become))

(And we'll become)
((And we'll become))

this seems to be about the end of the world, or like atomic bombs.- you know, cupboards of food and filtered water. not allowed outside becasue of radiation. makes sense right?

the silhoutte thing is because say if you are outside, standing by a brick wall when an atomic bomb explodes, and you are within a few miles of it, your body will disintagrate and all that will be left of you is a silhouette of you against the brick wall

its the bomb thing which i agree with but also, the thing is, his girlfriend or lover was left outside or somewhere else and he is by himself in his little shelter. and he is all alone and is contemplating going outside to find this lover. you can see that he is by himself by the lyrics talking about how he is screaming and pretending the echoes belong to someone else.

i interpreted different than all of you i though the whole bomb shelter thing was a metaphor I kind of pictured it as like maybe he and someone else he loved dearly got in a fight and he missed them and he didnt want to fight, so he stayed inside his "bomb shelter" to only think about them. And he just misses her so he pretends she is with him (the part about pretending the echoes beloning to someone he used to know) And he wanted to go talk to her again and have a constant relationship but everyone is telling him no and that the conditions outside of his "bomb shelter" are bad and everything bottled up might explode beucase they just couldnt take it and that wouldnt pretty.

oh well, thats what i thought of this great song.

LlCoolwars thats what I was going to say.

It like, leaves an imprint of you on the pavement, you can see pictures of things like that if you look about the bombing of Hiroshima.

You have to look at the whole song metaphysically though.
