i think its about his mom and how even tho shes always bitching at him he still cherishes that she welcomes him back home.
I know that the guys in Copeland are christians... I think that this song is about how God forgives and forgets.. "and all our confessing forgotten every word we're saying from the womb." this could have been a time when Aaron felt like he was getting away from God but then he knew that God would forgive him and welcome him back, hence the whole "welcome home."
